Has anyone else played both of the Condemned games for 360? I have beaten the first game and I'm halfway through the second one. I really like the story line of these games. There is so much mystery and twists in these games; that it puts most movie directors to shame. I really like the "weapons" that can be used in this game. When you can beat the shit out of someone with a toilet seat that is something to brag about. The protagonist is an enigmatic hero (anti-hero in the second game) who is just cool. Last, the environments will scare you to death. Last night I stopped playing the game at 10 and I actually scanned my room to make sure there wasn't some guy in the corner with a pipe. Bottom line, These games are definitely worth a play. They are fun, challenging, frightening, and overall really put together. You won't be disappointed :D

They're both great, mainly because the way they're presented makes them scary as hell. Walking through the creepy settings in the dark with just a pipe to protect yourself from the psychos and monsters hiding in it puts you on edge and makes the scares scarier than the setpiece jumpscares of things like RE.

The underlying storyline is unfortunately kind of silly, though, I thought. Should have stayed a leetle bit more grounded and not veered into the crazy fantasy stuff so much.

okay, I'll give you the whacked out story, but it is interesting. I like more the story of Ethan Thomas investigating murders and finding out the mysteries of his past and why the people are getting violent.

I've managed to score both of the games cheap, but I haven't had a chance to play them yet. I may have to move them up on my list.

One of my favorite modern game series, bar none. Thoroughly enjoyable. The 2nd one gets pretty crazed towards the end....

This series sounds like it would be something I would like. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Of course, it could be awhile, being that I haven't even work up to an original Xbox yet. :(

The first one is completely awesome, and an overlooked gem. The second one is also great, but the story about halfway through becomes complete trash. All of course, in my opinion.

What makes the first game so great is the uncertainty about your character's sanity for the first half of the game. Even when the supernatural stuff becomes inarguably real, it's left so open to interpretation that it's still genuinely creepy. The second game drops that in favor of evil hubcaps driving hobos crazy, and what I like to call the 'singing to win' mechanic.

The first person fighting mechanics are brilliant though. I wish more people had picked it up: I don't think it did very well.

Did anybody else get a splitting headache when playing the second one? Those sonic emitter things were actually making me nauseous.

No headaches. I did have some trouble seeing on the level were you're in the SCU building and you see wacky colors and blinding static.

I never had a chance to play the first one, but I grabbed the second one for the PS3 and enjoyed the hell out of it. Hopefully Sega will release a third one and continue one of the few series of theirs that's worth playing anymore.

Played the second one on PS3 and liked it. Normally "horror" games are pretty cheesy to me, but there is a definite creepy vibe to the game which I really liked.

Played through both of them. I bought the first one with my launch 360 the day it came out. It was a gamble but I wanted something other than Kameo to take home that day ;) Condemned is my favorite launch title for the 360. The second was good too, it just did not live up to the first one.

I think I told this story before, but I have to repeat it.

I got the first Condemned with my 360 around Christmas a couple years back. I started playing it, and I was enjoying it more than I expected to. Then there was a bit near the end of the first Chapter (I'm not good at these kinds of games, so it took me a while) where you started getting chased by a bad guy, and he chases you into a room.

Well, I turned, and unloaded every last bullet I owned into this guy...when suddenly...the game broke into a cut scene where I dropped my gun. The bad guy picked up my empty gun, and shot me. Twice.

Talk about completely ripping me out of the game. I literally could not ever go back to it, and got rid of the game soon afterwards. I realize these games are scripted a certain way, but dang it, if the guy is supposed to shoot me twice in the cut scene, then figure out some way of keeping me from shooting those last two bullets. A gun jam would have been sufficient.

Maybe I should try it again, because I did kind of like it, but I'm just so tired of FPS games anymore.

In all fairness, I wouldn't categorize this game as an FPS. Yes you can use guns and it's not in third person. I would categorize this as a adventure game like Indigo Prophecy. Yes, there is more ramshackle fighting, but there is also the element of finding evidence and (in the second game) answering questions to solve the mysteries behind why this is this. If there is anyone who doesn't like FPS games then you should give this a shot. It's more First Person Melee if anything, it's practically fight night in a way.

This has happened to me countless times, even in some recent games, but I always laugh at it and shrug it off. Most recent one I can remember was in Siren Blood Curse, I had ran out of bullets, yet my character was able to perform an execution move on a Shibato. I did this maybe two more times and found it pretty funny, I guess the gun had phantom bullets. There are some things you just have to let slide in games and this is one of them, but I guess to each their own.
