I was looking through some boxes I have, and I came across two Sonic the Hedgehog boxes, and 2 manuals.

You can't tell in the picture, but in the bottom right corner of each boxart, the "official seal of quality" is diffrerent. One says: "SEGA", and the other says, "SEGA Genesis". I was just wondering if anyone knew which manual went with which box. I found both manuals in the same box, so I don't know which each one belongs to.

I know it's not a big deal, but I found it kinda strange how they were different.

Thanks!

I have the same deal at home as well, so I'm quite curious.

Also, why were some manuals printed in the black/white scale? I come by them somewhat frequently and can't stand the feel of them, as they feel like offshoot photocopies.

My copy has the "Sega Genesis" seal on it and has a color manual. I also at one time had the other variation that you have and it also had a color manual though as well.

Sonic 3 and Chaotix seem to have black and white manuals, which I will never understand. Chaotix is in a cardboard case too. Football and Wrestling got plastic for 32x, why not Chaotix? arg. Pretty sure the same situation applies to Sonic & Knuckles.

Anyway I think what I'm getting at is the newer one probably is more likely to be the black and white. Or amybe you actually DO have a photocopied version.

Now that I think about it I thought that only the later release Genesis games that came in the cardboard boxes where the only ones with black & white instructions. I also think that Sega sold black & white manuals as replacements that you could order through them (Nintendo did the same thing).
