I've done a lot of work with the Xbox over the years, and now I have some consoles for sale. Xboxes make great emulation machines, you can put nearly anything on them. These systems are tested and guaranteed to work, see my warranty info at the bottom. If you already have a system and just want it modded, i can do that too. If you have an Xbox that needs repair, I can give you a quote.

I have a few basic packages, depending on what accessories and what color system you want:

If you'd like a green Limited Edition console, add an extra $14 to the price.

If you'd like a larger hard drive, let me know and I'll give you a quote. Price depends on the size of the drive and who provides it.

I'm not selling any xboxes that are the 1.0 models, i don't trust them. I'm checking out all of the hardware on them before i sell them, making sure the drive opens and shuts, making sure the hard drive or fan doesn't make any weird noises, making sure the disc drive doesn't have any trouble reading discs. I wouldn't sell something that I wouldn't be happy owning.

Essentially, if you have any problems with the hardware, or just need help or recommendations setting up the software, i'm going to make sure you're happy. If you have software you want to install 6 months or a year from now, i'll walk you through it.

If your hard drive goes kaput a few years down the road, i'm saving a copy of the EEPROM data from each console so i'll have what i need to replace it. Either I can do it, or i can send you the files and walk you through the process. If you buy a console from me and it dies years from now, i'll fix it for cheap.

It's kind of funny, the only reason you need to mod your xbox to run Xbox Media Center is because Microsoft was acting like a bag of dicks.

Way back when, while the xbox was still alive and well and Xbox Media Center was really kicking into gear, the developers contacted Microsoft to see if they would approve the app and sign it so it would run on unmodded consoles. They really wanted it to be a legitamate application, because quite frankly, it's pretty awesome. They even offered Microsoft the application for free if they would just allow it on the console.

Microsoft thought about it for a while, and eventually said no. They said they were going to release their own version of the application. That became the Xbox Media Extender, which is garbage compared to Xbox Media Center.

I mean, does Microsoft really want you to have to mod your console just so you can stream music and videos to your TV? Apparently so... On a related note, Microsoft is intentionally blocking the XBMC developers from creating a version of XBMC that will run on the 360 through the XDA program.

According to USPS, it would only cost about $13 to ship an xbox to you via Priority Mail. That's the same price as the ones i've shipped domestically (i've been under charging for shipping on purpose).

Yep, all of the systems support import play, and if you need it to play on a PAL TV, let me know. I can install a program that lets you switch back and forth from PAL to NTSC. (Normally i just have them default to NTSC unless otherwise requested)

The Xbox will play a PAL game fine on an NTSC TV, the switcher is just if you want to switch the output of the entire system. The console doesn't care what region the game is, NTSC consoles output NTSC, PAL output PAL regardless of the game region.

In other words, you should be good.

As long as the system can still run a game (and with what you described, it should), i can get it up and running again. Worst case scenario, I'd just have to wipe and remod it. If that's the case, I can save whatever files are on it and replace them.

I'm guessing that the hard drive doesn't match the bios (there are 2 different kinds of bios for handling hard drives over 128 GB, you have to match the hard drive partitions to the bios). Just to be safe and make sure nothing was corrupted, i'd probably just wipe them and start over.

$25 to fix them? (i'm not sure how many you have, but i'll fix them all for that price). Whatever you pay for shipping, just send me that and I'll ship 'em back the same way. I don't need any cords or controllers, i'm pretty well set on those. Xboxes fit really well into the large priority boxes, but it's $13. I'm only 2 hours away, so it's probably not worth the extra cost.

It's a shame, i was just in Grand Rapids 2 weeks ago for a wedding, i could have saved you some shipping...

Yeah, it still runs XBMC and games fine. It just overwrites files at the beginning of the partition when you start to go over 250GB. I asked around on a few Xbox forums and I think they said it just needed to be set up with cluster formatting (or something like that).

I guess there's an app called XBpartitioner that'll fix it but I didn't want to do it myself and risk bricking the Xbox. $25 for 2 consoles sounds cool though. I'll have to talk to my brother first and see when I can get his Xbox from him though (he lives in K-Zoo). I'll PM you when I got everything ready to ship. Where are you? Detroit?

All the files *should* be on there, but i guess anything is possible. I'm guessing XBMC's xbe scanner didn't bother to check for apps under F:\Emulators\ for some reason. It worked on the other box, and they're configured the same (they're actually a clone of each other).

I'm offering to mail you the files on a DVD, pay you to mail the xbox back to me so i can fix it, or pay you to mail the xbox to someone whom i'll pay to fix it.

Did he softmod or hardmod the console?

If it was a softmod, I would open the console and check the IDE cable. Usually, when it's the IDE cable, an error would appear (don't remember if it was a code 12 or code 14), but who knows. You can also replace the drive if needed (or the lens itself).

Is your dash UnleashX or Evolution?

The softmod is incredibly easy to do, if the right items are at hand. I can help anyone with questions, if it's ok with the administrators and mods. :)

The good thing is that it's already softmodded. But by any chance, did he provide the eeprom.bin file? This is crucial in case something happens to the HDD in the future.

Concerning DVD2Xbox, I can help you with that, as I have the program installed on mine. Do you know whether your dashboard is "UnleashedX" or "EvolutionX"? I have "UnleasedX".

All you need to do is FTP the Xbox from your PC (use FlashFXP, as it is the best). I can help you through that as well. The applications should be in the E drive, or even F, or G, depending on how he configured it. But it's really easy. The program is inside the "apps" folder. Once located, you can simply transfer a new version of the program to the folder and run the new version from the Xbox.

The Xbox is basically a PC of sorts, so if you have good PC knowledge, it will be a breeze.

Some files may need administrator or mod approval, if I need to post instructions on the board itself. Or I can simply give instructions, but not provide links to programs.

I am not a lawyer and I do not play one on TV, but it would seem to me that if your house was foreclosed on, your stuff would be put out of the house, much like a normal eviction. For any bank or finance company to hold onto personal property that is not listed as collateral for the loan would amount to theft.

I know that in some evictions, instead of just placing all your stuff outside, the local Sheriff will place it in storage where you will have to pay some fees to get it back. Don't know if this applies in Michigan, but it is apparently the case in Massachusetts.

I see people selling modded Xbox's all the time now for dirt cheap. Just keep an eye out in the Buy & Sell forum and some will eventually show up. You should easily be able to get one now for under $200 shipped.

At any rate, the last time I saw progace in #vbender (this was about a month ago), he was having a lot of problems with losing his house, and I believe his job as well. We suggested that he try to settle the deals here, and he dreaded it because of said issues.
