Trilogy is complete, now we need Conker(not live and reloaded), Killer Instincts, Jet Force Gemini, Battletoads, Blast Corps and we're set ^^
I second Conker's. Love the original but haven't gotten a chance to play the Xbox "re imagining". I just read/heard it was mucked up from the original.

Awesome. I set this on my download queue so it'll download as soon as I get my Xbox back and hook it up.
I'd easily give $20+ for a remake of Blast Corps in a heartbeat.

I've got a game breaking bug on the 3rd mission...
I just rescued the floating laptop and i'm going back up through the first level. I'm supposed to kill all of these body guards, but there's 3 at the bottom of the level that don't have any AI. They just stand there and do nothing. I can shoot at them all day and nothing happens.
I reloaded the level twice and it keeps doing the same thing...

first of all what level are you playing it on? (secret agent?).
I remember there regular guard or two standing from the distance and doing nothing where you start the mission, they can easily be shot, once you start shooting they're after you so headshots are in order.
I assume you're using night vision hehe, once you're done with few of the guards, they will lit the building and you have to remove them because you'll see nothing.
if the guards are suspended by some weird reason, just pass them by, you don't have to kill them unless those are the guys responsible for light in the building.
if that's the case, just clear cache on your hard drive and it should be fine.
or did you mean carrol's female carrying shotgun bodyguards? (near the rooftops).

I've been decimating the Simulator Challenges and Firing Range, so I haven't hit up the Solo Missions yet. I've seen a couple interesting bugs though that I remember from the good old days:
1) The old 6 second glitch on the first level still exists.
2) Had a Capture the Briefcase challenge where the enemy briefcase never reset because it was still assigned to me, but I couldn't capture it. It took me 10 minutes to realize it. Re-doing the challenge fixed it.
I've seen that AI issue in the original game, but I would just restart the level and it was fixed.

man is this remake awesome! ...dolby surround in 5.1...
The N64 version featured Dolby Surround sound, too.
N64 weighed 32mb's, XBLA version is 240mb's, - that should give you good indication of how much love and work went into it.
The data on the N64 cartridge was compressed. Uncompressed, it'd probably be around 128 MB. Then again, I'm sure the Xbox Live Arcade version is compressed, too.

live and reloaded is actually a fantastic remake, it has everything original did but with a gorgeous presentation and totally enhanced soundtrack(although music arrangements aren't as good).
so you should definitely get it but it would be nice to have original as well.

yes it did have standard dolby surround but notice I said xbla is "in 5.1 surround sound"
PD still carries the best FPS Soundtrack ever(as most Rare game do ^^)

nope, no significant compression on N64 as well as 360 version(there is no reason).
the biggest games there ever were on N64 was Conker's Bad Fur Day(64mb's) and Resident Evil 2(cutscenes!).

I have US and Japanese version of PD, unfortunately framerate makes it almost unplayable.
I have both of those N64 versions too but the controls are what made it unplayable for me.
I got used to controls in a snap (aiming cursor is actually essential if you're going for headshots, etc)
The controls are what will turn the majority of people off from this game unless they played the original. No jump button(forgivable in 2000 when this came out but not today in 2010) and a targeting cursor that behaves like you are trying to aim while high and drunk at the sametime are unacceptable. Actually, I can overlook the lack of the jump button but when I put a targeting cursor over an opponents head I expect it to stay there until I move it, not move by itself. With all the bells and whistles they have added to this updated port, the lack of a fixed/updated cursor is a very glaring omission.
Everything else has worked fine though and I basically don't aim when firing because that increases accuracy by 200% in this game. I haven't finished the game yet(about a third of the way there) but I have been enjoying pretty much everything but the aiming issues. I just watched the latest Major's Minute where he interviewed 4J studios about this port and they said that if enough people downloaded this game there might be a Perfect Dark 2 in the works. That would be great....but only if they fix the aiming cursor.

public matchmaking sucks
overall gg 10/10 GOTY (maybe unless the 02UM port is awesome)

It is quite unbelievable,
This game managed to remain title of my favorite FPS after a decade(and I played them all).
Single player story (on perfect agent difficulty with imaginative mission briefings, cool gadgets at your disposal), countless multiplayer options, and the most impressive arsenal of weapons at your disposal.
The best $10 you'll ever spend.

Live and Reloaded's got everything? I thought the vampire section was replaced with a Van Helsing-esque level and there was more censoring. I've been planning on getting the new version anyway but if it's pretty much unchanged, I'll be more adamant in getting it.

I just played a few multiplayer matches. You start off with.....no weapons??? What is this, 1997? Aside from that the actual matchmaking happened very quick(very little time waiting in the lobby) and my matches weren't filled with overly vulgar idiots. I also love how so many people(myself included) had to try and punch dudes that were shooting guns at us because we hadn't found any weapons yet.
Overall, I'd give the game an 8.5 out of 10. Definitely alot of bang for your $10 but there are a few things they could have(and should have) fixed.

here's a pro tip, once you started and somebody else got a weapon but you didn't, use your secondary mode "disarm", punch a guy once and take his gun, voila.
it's fun ^^

I actually figured that out but some of the dudes still kept shooting me after I took their weapon. Maybe that was a glitch. Another glitch that happened in my first match was that I kept respawning in a room(atleast 3 times straight) where you could only get into thru one door. This door was in front of me each time I spawned and I kept getting shot thru the door while I was just standing there unarmed. I heard that there are weapons that can shoot thru walls but I don't think thats what was happening to me. I think I was just getting glitched.

You should make a petition for Microsoft to patch the game to allow everyone to start out with the Klo1313(the Klobb.)
Haven't played the 360 version so can't say, but with the N64 version I've honestly never had a problem finding weapons. It usually starts you near a weapon spawn area. The only level it sometimes didn't is that one snow stage with the underground paths(not Skedar, Skedar is the best multiplayer stage in the game. The other one.)
As for getting shot through the wall. The FarsightXR20 is the only one that can shoot through the wall(very cheap btw.) The RCP120 allows for the player to be invisible at the cost of ammo though, so that could have been it and you didn't know. That or someone was just doing cheap spawn kills.

nope, still as gory and foul mouthed - it's all there.
it's 95% the same(for instance instead of getting frying pan as your primary weapon from the start you're getting spiked baseball bat which is arguably more violent than it was in N64 version).

been playing today, 6th mission on perfect agent so far.
there is no better arsenal of weapons in any fps, pd is still the king in this department.
over 40 weapons with secondary options.
laptop gun that transforms and doubles as a sentry device planted on a wall? awesome as it ever was.
single player, multiplayer, challenges, they've even added additional tasks (previously unreleased) as well as bonuses (PD Theme, Gamer Pictures, Avatar items you unlock) -
there is simply no better shooter out there in terms of value proposition.
4J/Rare even said that if this release sells well, PD2 is inevitable.

What task were added?
And what I read said if it sells well then maybe they'd do a sequel.

Grabbed this a few nights ago. God this kicks ass - this is how remakes in the HD generation SHOULD be. Not messed with, just polished.

I tried the demo last night and Rare did a great job of giving the game some polish but didn't go overboard to muck up the mechanics. Graphically it's decent-the characters still have clenched fists that they slam into keyboards to enter data with but for a game that's this silky smooth-don't matter to me. I had no problems using the weapons and was able to deal some death rather quickly and efficiently.
Might have to pick this up down the road...

Princess-Isabela is wrong. To quote IGN's Conker: Live and Reloaded preview and review:
"...the N64 version actually had some un-bleeped swearing. Sure, the F-bomb was always censored, but every now and then a s--- would get through, which made things even funnier. Here, Microsoft has upped the bleeps, as almost nothing makes it through safely, not even 'twat'"
"Here's the sad news: The Conker single-player experience on Xbox is not as good as on the N64. ... In an attempt to make Conker more accessible, Rare has made the game a little easier and removed a few sections. ... While I still love the single-player, it's shorter and easier on Xbox. What I considered a 9.9 experience on N64 is more like a 9.2 on Xbox - still great, just not as great."
To quote Wikipedia:
"...the game was released with heavy censorship. Even minor obscenities which were present in the original N64 version were censored. This drew heavy criticism from fans of the original, especially as it detracted from comedic highlights such as the song in the Sloprano chapter."

A new patch came out just the other day, if anyone's interested. Includes Legacy/Southpaw controls, includes a few more options for finding lobbies, and fixes some achievement glitches.

I've never understood the ability to change controller type to left handed. I'm left handed and every time I play a game that has that option I try it out and immediately switch it back. If you've been playing games your entire life then you'll only feel natural playing it the way it was originally designed. Playing it backwards is difficult.

Then you probably shouldn't look at this (http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/215069/how-excited-are-you-for-a-goldeneye-remake/). It's nothing but a tease so far but I know it will give some people hope.
