Does anyone know when this was made? I've checked E-Bay and all the Coleco sites that I can think of, and nothing. The ones on E-Bay are totally different. Please someone help with some info: It's a Coleco Telstar Colortron. It's about a foot long, with 2 controll knobs, on the right hand side it has a button for game select(1.Tennis 2. Hockey 3.Jai Alai 4.Handball), a switch for OFF/ INTERMEDIATE /PRO, on the left hand side it has a reset button. It takes 2 9 volt batteries(one on each side/ one is for picture/the other is for sound), it hooks up to the tv just like an Atari, and has a place for a power supply, and a tv channel select button. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2536073891

I may be in the same boat as you with the info on it though..

The Ebay link you provided isn't working..

I'd make a rough guess that it was 75-77 that it was sold, but that's gonna cover a lot of your pong systems, eh?

The funny thing is in the "Coleco vision" pics I think they put a picture of a Nintendo RF switch instead of the correct one.

Hey! It's my FIRST videogame! Seriously my dad brought that home one day and it was the BOMB. We loved playing Pong and Jai Alai and all the other good stuff. The problem was it took 2 9v batteries (one for video, one for sound) so when they died, we had no games. However often times we'd have only one battery, so we'd put that in the video and thus we'd often play the games with no sound! LOL

Aahhh those were the good old days. Then Space Invaders and the 2600 came out....

Let's see.. my guess is it came out around 1976 or 1977. That sounds about right.

LOL Don't bother, I'll go look right now ^_^

And about the "RF" thing, I know....that's why it says 'sample', cause it's a suitable substitute. It'll be fixed this summer.

Yes that is a GREAT site. I have it in my favorites folder now. There is a wealth of information on there. Thanks to everyone for the help. And yes the Nintendo RF will work on the Colortron, but I did go to the Shack and picked up a $3.99 12 foot cable for it :D . The only problem that this system has, is that when it first starts up it does a buzzing sound, but you can tap it a couple of times and the sound goes to the normal "boink" sound. I think it just a loose wire, oh well, I can live with it. Achika, do you know the spec's for the AC power supply that can be hooked up to this game?

Thanks! :-D

I'm not sure of the power rating, mine is loose so I don't have a manual or box to go by. But, the year was 1978.

Hey Achika, I'm about to put this system on E-Bay, and was wondering if you cared if I put a link in the auction to your web page on this system? If you say no, I understand, but it might get you some more traffic :D . Please let me know,
Tony

Sorry I missed this earlier, you can if you want.

Be forewarned--I used to have my website in my auctions and at one point about 50 auctions were pulled because of it. Apparently they were affended that I had my trade pages on there. I don't know if it was eBay bots (prolly not) or someone with a grudge against me :hmm:

Thanks again,
Tony
