About 7% of my total collection is current-gen.

I need to give my Wii some loving. It's like Dreamcast all over again - a few mindblowing titles, but then I forget about it. 360 is the redheaded stepchild of my collection (I've barely gotten into ANYTHING on it), so I picked up Assassin's Creed at PnT the other day to finally get some use out of it. Everything on 360 I end up getting on PS3 or PC. And it figures, Steam has AC on sale this weekend for half what I paid. Similar situation with PS3, I played the crap out of Gundam Crossfire and Armored Core 4, but little else. Once I finish MGS4 I'll find something else to play on PS3 besides DVDs.

Someone included UMD movies in their list, and it brought a question to mind that I was curious about. Are you guys buying many videos from Xbox Live's video marketplace? I've been enjoying that and have bought all the Peanuts releases, all the Scooby Doo Where Are You/Scooby Doo Show releases, the season of the History Channel's Battle 360 program, and a few other scattered episodes.

Thanks for the awesome reply to the question, who ever asked me about my 87 Wii games if they are shovelware, IMO I can admit I only played like a little less than half of my Wii collection, I love racers and platformers so if it release for the Wii then I buy it....so to many yes it's considered shovelware I assume but to me I really have enjoyed the 40+ titles I have tried for the console, have a ton yet to get to and can't wait to finally take them out of shrinkwrap.

For PSP and DS...not bad as I'm also a pretty big handheld collecter...right now have 101 for DS and 87 for PSP..

PS3 - A grand total of two games on disc: Street Fighter IV and Battle Fantasia. I have nine games from PSN including SSF2HDR, Bionic Commando, WipEout HD, Outrun, GTI Club+.

The only games I'll be getting on Blu-Ray in the near future are BlazBlue and King of Fighters XII. There's a lot more games coming out on PSN that I want such as Fat Princess and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Wii - Sports, Galaxy and Kart. That's it. I actually use it more to play the stack of about 30 Gamecube games I have. The kids play Mario Kart.

Xbox 360 - None whatsoever. I use it for XNA Game Studio and that's it.

DS Lite - Again, I just use this for tinkering around. I only have GTA and Zelda.

- Seems to be my favourite console to collect for right now, with so many fantastic games being released amongst all the shovelware

- It's off and on collecting as and when I can get hold of what I want, but i've stepped up my collecting efforts with the impending PSP Go due out which will start to signal the decline of the UMD and make UMD games harder to sources than they already are


Indicating that I have more games for the two current handhelds as I do for all three current-gen consoles!

I will also add that all of the above are still factory sealed, and I only own one LE DS and two LE X360 consoles (All sealed)

That's a great number to have, and roughly twice as much as me. It's all relative though, so it all depends on what else you ahev and colelct for. If these were your only consoles and the only ones you buy for, then those numbers are justified and relative, whereas someone like myself spreads my buying across many more consoles, and therefore can't allocate as much cash towards collecting for the current-gen.

However, if indeed you do collect for many other consoles too, then that's excellent going! At the moment though, i'm more interested in chasing older games I missed last generation and waiting for games from this generation to drop in price, with many games I do have being LE's and CE's which I had to buy on release day as they would be harder to source at a later date. DS games are relatively cheap, hence why I have more than any other, and PSP games are picked up here and there for peanuts whenever I can be bothered to scour eBay for bargains

As a general rule though, I mainly stick to the main franchises, so many of the other games I have from this generation form part of a sub-collection, such as Resident Evil, Pokemon, Metroid, Final Fantasy etc...
