I remember reading about a version of Tetris that hooked up to a heart monitor and the pace of the game increased and decreased accordingly. I believe it was supposed to be for the N64. Did this ever make it out? I love gimmicky stuff like that!

Yup, it was Japan only, though. I believe the box calls it "Tetris 64" but it's commonly known as Biotetris.
On a side note, I really want one too if anyone knows where to pick one up.

I think BioTetris was scheduled for an international release (I read about it in a British magazine Previews section), but I don't think it sold well for some reason. The cool part wsa the heart monitor: the higher your heart rate got, the faster the Tetris pieces would come, so the only way to make it easier would be to make yourself really calm.
This is the type of training where videogames can be superior to any other form of education. For instance, consider a driving simulation of an F1 track. Driving a real F1 car, you would have to take it slow at first, because any error will result in serious injury. Once you have full control over the car and full confidence, then you can begin to learn the course itself. If you played a videogame of the track, you can crash a million times while learning the course, which would make the learning process far, far faster. Not saying that learning to drive F1 is the critical skill for the 21st century, but videogames can be tremendous teachers due to the combination of interactivity and non-consequence. More BioTetris and less "3d action-adventure" Tomb Raider clones, please.

cool....I could probably do really well at biotetris. I can slow my heart rate down really low. Granted playing the game may be strussful, But it would be cool just to see how fast and how slow you could get the pieces to drop.

Yeah, like the Rez vibrator. Lol.
But yeah, they get good stuff over there.
I went around my local Babbage's/bookstores a week after Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow was released, asking about an art book that was released only in Japan to people who preordered. Bums :/

I could do really well at Biotetris (and I too am looking for a copy of it). I rarely get nervous when I play games.
Bio-Wareware Inc... now THAT would be an intense game.

Er, Bio-WarioWare? I agree.
Bio-Tetris sounds like the ultimate game to lower your heartbeat :)
