Well here it is, 2 of the latest games out, that on the surface appear to be alot alike. I purchased both and have sunk about 8 hours into each one. Which one is better?

InFamous.

Prototype isnt bad though, i need to spend more time with it, as it was just released today.

With InFamous, there are 2 options to the game, go good or bad, the story is very good, and the graphics are superior ( if that matters to you )

Prototype feels rushed and a little simple. You just kill whatever comes at you. You can only be the Villain, and it seems like there is a 10 second load time every few minutes whenever you start a new mission.

InFamous does have its flaws however, alot of the missions are the same. Get the power on, blow up trucks, rescue hostages ( or if you are the villain, do the opposite. )

I am having alot more fun with InFamous!

Cant wait for Ghostbusters! :D

Haven't checked out Prototype but Infamous is bad ass. I don't think Prototype can live up to it. Ghostbusters looks fun, I'm looking forward to play it.

Prototype is $20 on Amazon right now. Is this game good or no?

I played it on the PC.

It's totally worth $20. It's fun but not great. It's kinda like the Expendables. Dumb story, dumb game if you really think about it. The side missions get really, really repetitive halfway through. I was like a hawk on all the side missions up to that point and then gave up because it got too dull. However, all that side missioning upgraded me more than sufficiently for the rest of the game.

But if you can turn off your brain for a couple hours, you'll get your $20 worth of enjoyment without any doubt.

I beat both games last summer. Still have each one.

InFamous is light years ahead of Prototype...polished, engaging, cool powers, a fun sandbox to play around in. Also, it has one of the best plot twists in the history of video games.

Prototype is ugly, the city has no personality or interesting places to explore, missions are boring, but I will say...climbing buildings and gliding around is pretty fun. You get a nice sense of speed and freedom of movement that most sandbox games can't compete with.

I'll find out when I get my free copy of Prototype for buying Singularity in the mail

Played Infamous and loved it, saw a buddy of mine play Prototype and I was bored to tears.

inFAMOUS really excels when it comes to combat. One second you are fighting on the street and the next you are flanking the enemy from the side of a street light and jumping around to dodge and hang off the side of a building, all while fighting, it's fluid, engaging and looks solid graphically and controls are tight, responsive and accurate.

Prototype is only fun when you do things "right", which is to say when you know what "looks cool", otherwise you can button mash through the whole thing and it is quite linear. Nowhere near the same depth or challenge and nowhere near as engaging, not to say it isn't a decent game just that it isn't nearly as fine tuned or fun as inFAMOUS and actually I prefer the Wolverine game to Prototype.

Prototype might be more for people who want to "experiment" with new moves and such, that is to say you really won't get much fun out of it unless you "make it fun", but inFAMOUS is just down right fun and original and the way it is designed will put you in situations where you will say "that is cool".

Having now finished both, I can say inFamous and Prototype are both good, but not great games. You really can't say one is better than the other. Both are plagued with bland side-missions, a bland world and gameplay that can't go the distance. The only pros are better story (inFamous) and more varied moves (Prototype) but both of those balance out to equal quality games.

I had fun with both but inFamous was nowhere near as good as it needed to be to get so many accolodes. I think people just saw 'From the makers of Sly Cooper' and started throwing out awards. :P
