Windows Live/XBOX Live

so I finally got a Live account... just a free one right now, but I also have a coupon for a free month of paid access... and I'm only playing Viva Pinata at the moment, but eventually I'd like to get into all the racers, and maybe a few of the other genres... assuming that it doesn't become too expensive...

anyhow, so I've got a Saitek XBOX360 rumble pad, and I'm loving the way that it's got my PC working like a 360... without any red rings of death... now if MS and friends would just stop giving the 360 priority over the PC... then I could see what's supposed to be so great about the 360 without having to actually own it... but in the meantime, at least I can see whatever they'll let me see... which doesn't look like much, since MS still prefers the 360...

oh well, if you happen to see a dog by the name of PUPPYBONE on Live, that's me... I'll prolly be sticking my head out the window of a fast car...

Let's see, you can play 80% of 360 titles on pc, you can download movies on pc, you can voice chat on pc. So yeah what exactly is so "missing".

I've never had that impression at all. I don't know anyone who actually likes those ridiculous things. Avatars suck.

Truth is, aside from the initial setup, I think 99% of the people gaming on the 360 have completely forgotten they have avatars on it :p

Did this really need its own thread? We've got a thread stickied at the top of the forum Click me (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129347) that is for your gamertags. Post in there, note that its a Windows Live account and go to town.

Besides, Windows live is now 100% free to access, we in XBL land still have to pay for it. In regards to cost of the service, at $49.99 a year, it works out for us XBL users as $4.16 a month. Your costs are in getting games and buying DLC.
