Hi everyone, I'm posting here to let you all know about my new website that I've just launched: http://www.mrgamefix.com. I repair lots of different gaming equipment for both the older cartridge-based platforms and portables to the newer disc-based systems. Whether you've got a NES that isn't playing games, a SNES that won't power on, or a PS2 that won't read discs, I can fix it.

My cartridge game cleaning services are especially nice because I use the best quality product on the market - DeoxIT contact cleaner. It's specifically formulated for this exact purpose, and it does a far superior job of cleaning game cartridge contacts than normal rubbing alcohol or any of the other cleaning products I've tried. It chemically dissolves the dirt and oxidation that accumulates on your game cartridges over time in a way that other cleaners just can't touch. I even go farther by giving your game cartridges a thin coating of DeoxIT Gold after the cleaning, to help keep them playing for years to come without needing further cleaning.

I also use DeoxIT to clean the cartridge connectors in systems like the Genesis and N64. New replacement pin connectors don't seem to exist anywhere for those systems, but with DeoxIT, it is possible to clean the original connectors and revitalize them so that they play games correctly again. And to top it all off, if you send in a cartridge-based system for repair, I will clean any two games you send with that system for FREE! You won't believe how well your system and games work again once they are both cleaned with DeoxIT!

I know some people are the "do-it yourself" type and my services won't be for everyone, but if you don't want to spend a lot of time and money rounding up special tools and fixing your own gaming items, I'm perfectly willing to do the dirty work.
Please visit my site and let me know what you think. Thanks,
- Mr. GameFix

*If you would like to place an order for several services on my site, but you are getting a shipping quote that seems too high, please e-mail me at mrgamefix@mrgamefix.com. In some cases I may be able to combine all your items into one Large Flat Rate Box when I ship your items back and refund part of the shipping charge.

I'm just going to go out and say something. Your prices are WAY too high. Some prices are more than what the system is actually worth. Genesis' are only $20, why charge $30 for a repair. Gamecube repair for $40 when the system is only worth $30. Your system charges are too high. You do seem to have some good services like battery replacement for NES carts, which is a good start. Make your prices more reasonable though, and you will be taken more seriously, especially on system repair. A simple cleaning of a system shouldn't cost someone $30, it's just unreasonable.

$2 to clean a cart? I don't have any money, but I do have a bridge that I don't use, maybe we could make a trade.

For a flat-rate fix, the prices look reasonable. Part of the reason I say that is because getting a "new" one on ebay does not get you a "new" one. You get one that may or may not be on the brink of failure, and may or may not be falling apart in places your current one isn't. Many of the consoles I have are ones I bought new when I was a kid... I know they're in great physical shape, so if one were to blow a part internally, I'd way prefer to get my unit back instead of rolling the dice with a "new" one.

The other thing is... if you can adequately clean your own carts, then you're really not his target audience. There are plenty of folks out there though that have no idea where to start and need a hand and $2 for a non-working cart to work again really isn't all that bad to those folks.

Best of luck with the new site.

Instead of spending a lot of money on tools that can be used repeatedly, we could spend a lot of money for you to do it for us. I don't really see many benefits, cleaning systems and games is incredibly easy for anyone to do and shouldn't cost that much.

If anyone wants to use DeoxIT, it's available for sale to the public.
