I finally did pictures of my Famicom Disk System fullset!

Games are japanese alphabetically classified (let alone the non-standard boxed games)..i had a hard time locating all of the approx 30 "write only" games, especially with original instructions!

Some ones,like Clu Clu Land,are worth 100000Y!

All games have matching barcodes, complete with box&instructions,sticker,etc..many are even factory sealed, and i keep them in FDS factory cases (Zelda,Super Mario 2..)

Too, I added some extras like the 2 Gold Disks and All Night Super Mario Brothers.

Enjoy!

That's really great! Which reminds me... one thing I've always wanted to get my hands on is a real Disk Writer. Has anyone ever seen those come up for sale?

Congratulations Adol, that's awesome. At this point it must be easier to list Japanese video games you don't have!

Why is the Otocky box so large? Did it come with bonus stuff?

Adol

As soon as I saw the title on the main page, I had a good idea who the set belonged to. Of course, I was right!

Congratulations on another complete set and thanks for the pictures!

I think I just felt an electric jolt. In my pants.

Amazing collection, FDS is a fave of mine, congrats on finding some super-hard to come by stuff. It boggles my mind you have Disk Writer-only games WITH instructions. All Night SMB... and a case of SMB2???

I'm crying. :D

And unlike me, your copies of Clu Clu Land and All Night Nippon are legit copies, and not something that was copied off of an amateur disk copier like I suspect is the case with the copies I got on eBay a few years back for $10 a piece.

Adol

Original Clu Clu Land with sticker is worth 30-40000Y.
Complete copy with original instructions is 100000Y. :(
Sure, loose copy with no sticker is worth nothing.

in your last pictures theres a transformers headmaster book? loose what exactly is that?

I recently purchased a complete copy of headmasters with the manual(took me awile to find it in good shape) and was wondering what that was there?

They would have surely all been collected and destroyed. There's no way Nintendo would have let one go missing from their records. I would assume that Nintendo do have a couple of fully functioning mint condition examples kicking around in one of their vaults.

I would love to be proven wrong though and find that some crazy Japanese guy has one in his house next to the Astro City.

That is so cool. I alway wondered where you keep all these full sets? (and when do you go to work? JK X_x ) Do you have them all at home or do you have to store them some where else?

Hey adol, what are the best RPGs on the system that didn't get an NES release? (Actually... unless you count Zeldas, there weren't any FDS RPGs that got an NES release, were there?)

Do these disks actually work nowadays? have you tested all of opened ones?

Adol
06-12-2009, 06:06 AM
I tested most of them,yes.
I sold too many FDS games these past few months ,and nobody complained about them,so they should be wroking without any problem.

Generally, the problem comes from the system: the belt is old,and you have to change it.
Luckily, there are plenty of them for sale in Japan, because they're well aware of such problem.

Dark_Sol

Wow, it's amazing how they still work.

Adol
06-12-2009, 04:25 PM
Well, some NES carts that old (zelda?) can still save your game, that's as amazing as that.

Kickass, Adol. You're the man! :)

Is the Gold RockMan 4 in that collection? I think only 8 were made. Memory is fuzzy.

I asked this same question a few years back, and someone here pointed me to an auction on Yahoo! Japan Auctions that had a Disk Writer for sale. Shipping would be a killer though, so most, if not all, Disk Writer units are still in Japan or destroyed.

I remember when Nintendo Power had a little article about the FDS and how you could buy the games at the store and they would make you a copy right there. It was a fantasy of mine to be able to go to the store and get any NES game copied onto a disk immediately. This is back when finding simple games like Double Dragon was a nightmare because Nintendo only shipped 3 copies at a time.
