Ever go to a used game store, buy a great game in decent/good condition, then go home and tear off any stickers, and find a huge, blatant bruise on the game?
This happened to me with Zelda 2. Well, the game was already in C- condition, but when I took the price label off, there was just a huge spot of black on it, where something had destroyed the paint in that particular spot.
Redundant question though, since a sticker on the game lowers the value anyways.

I've seen a sticker hold together and obscure broken pieces on cartridges, as well as duct tape and glue used to hold together pieces of a CD.

Worst thing I've ever seen would be a price sticker over a small crack. It played fine and no real problem as it was a $.25 copy of RBI Baseball for Genesis.

This isn't exactly the same as a sticker, but similar. I found a complete copy of Shining Force CD at a local store, and I was thrilled. It was I think $40, but I had never seen one in the wild before, so I bought it. It was locked in a case on a high shelf, so I had to have the clerk come get it out for me. He came and got it, and carried it up to the register for me. I followed, paid for the game, he put it in a bag, and I took it home.
When I got home I pulled it out and realized that it didn't have a back or spine. The case insert was missing. It was just the book in the front, and of course the game. It had been facing forward in the store, so I hadn't noticed. And since I'd never had any kind of problem with that store before, ever, I didn't think to look for something like that.
Fortunately I was able to find the insert online and print one out, so no big deal. Still, it was a bit aggravating.
