Seriously. Just for the heck of it, I come home to find out that she'd bought copies of Flying Power Disc (Windjammers) for the Neo Geo CD and Gradius Gaiden for the PSX for me!

Score!

We often buy each other little gifts. I get her tons of stuffed animals, and she usually gets me beer. :drinking: She's got me a couple games before, and a Mario Kart DS pen from the Nintendo shop that's pretty cool, but these two games are sweet.

Windjammers was about $20 (the AES version is running around $70...), and Gradius Gaiden $15.

I got my fiancee hooked on game collecting :)
She loves to pick up games for the Sega systems since she grew up with them, and she'll pick up any type of hardware or accessories for a system that we don't currently own. She picked me up a 3DO & 20+ games one day and thought I'd be upset because she spent $160 on it. She'll also look around on eBay for deals and send me emails at work asking about them.

Nothing like a video game addicts enabler. I have one too. Every so often she does point out some games seem unplayed. Sadly, she is correct. So little time...

She offered by buy Castlevania: SOTN on the Saturn, but I told her to take it easy. Just a bit at a time!

Mmm, Flying Power Disc is on my shortlist for favorite Neo Geo game (probably nipped by Big Tournament Golf or Dunk Dream).

Too bad we can't play head to head online :)

Too bad we can't play head to head online :)I've been addicted to this game on and off since... the Neo has been emulated on the PC. :D

Finally I own a copy! A real copy!

It's an absolute mystery to my why this game hasn't been released on some form outside of the Neo Geo for more people to enjoy. It's a perfect candidate for the PSN or X-Box Live. The VC on the Wii goes unsaid.

Best Neo game I've ever played. I'll have to try Big Tournament Golf of Dunk Dream. Are they expensive? Of course I prefer the AES, but the CD is fine as long as the load times are reasonable.

Big Tournament Golf is truly pricey - pushing $1000 on AES, $70 with some smart shopping on CD. MVS is cheapest -maybe $20 or so. CD version is actually best as it has some extras.

Dunk Dream is cheap but I found it a total bitch to acquire (without using Y!Auctions, that is). Seems to be in the 1000-1500 yen range on CD. It's an NBA Jam-esque game with an awesome soundtrack and great gameplay.

Wow... I just started playing Gradius Gaiden.

I think it's replaced Salamander as my favourite Gradius game. AWESOME game!

Yeah my girlfriend is moving in soon too and is going to pay half my rent for me every month. That means a nice extra $300 every month or so for me and for her to save up or do whatever with.

Maybe I'll collect systems again alongside my RPGs. I was craving an AV modded original Famicom and a Commodore 64 before I had to back off the system collecting for a while.

I'm so jealous man ~____~ I even hide all my purchases from my gf, because I promised her I'd stop making expensive imports...Oh, trust me... she's not a gamer at all. She occasionally plays any version of Arkanoid, Columns, Tetris, Bomberman, Puzzle Bobble or Puyo-Puyo*... and that's about it. I drive her bananas sometimes with all the dirty old Famicom games and whatnot I bring home every week or so. Still, she knows it's my hobby so she likes me to be happy. On the flip-side... Channel handbags are bloody expensive! What's wrong with a $30 handbag from somewhere like Wal-Mart? I could buy 30x Wal-Mart handbags for the price of one designer bag. Better yet, I could buy a Wondermega, PCE Duo RX, Neo GEO, and a few good games for each instead of one handbag...

2-way street here.

*Block Breaker Deluxe (Wiiware), Columns III (MD), Tetris Plus (Saturn), Super Puzzle Bobble (PS2) and Puyo-Puyo 15th Anniversary (Wii) are her favourite versions of these games. As for Bomberman, she doesn't have a preference. We usually play Saturn Bomberman, Bomberman '93 (PCE) or Bomberman Blast (Wii). They're all good.
