What things specifically, major or minor, do you like about certain game hardware and accessories?

For me:
-The little compartment for the codebook for Game Gear's Game Genie
-The wrist strap notch on various handhelds
-The annoying springy noise the Zapper makes when the trigger is pulled

Some for me:

•The handle on the back of the Gamecube
•The schematic on the Sega Master System
•The sliding door on the Sega Master System II
•The CD door lock on the Turbo Duo
•The volume control for the headphones on the Genesis
•The concealed card slots on the PlayStation 3

I always liked the the push-down zif connector and lid on the NES. I'm much more used to top loaders and the cart sticking out of the system, so the fact that the thing is there, working without a visible cart, looks pretty slick to me.

Anything with a headphone jack. I almost bought a 3DO just because of the controllers.

I've always liked the way the turbo buttons were implemented on the NES Max controller.

I love the OEM controllers for the Turbo Grafx/Duo - built in turbo switches!

I love how the triggers on the Xbox and Xbox 360 controller are positioned to where you feel like you are shooting an actual gun....a gun with a weird controller shape.

I loved that the sega saturn could also double as a karaoke machine.

The Sega Dreamcast VMU.

How hasn't this been mentioned yet?

The fact that they're planned to be obsolete from the start.

Yeah you read right.

Some of the ones I like:

- The hidden memory card area on the PS3
- The Turbo switches on the Turbo Duo controller
- The look and feel of the Japanese GunCon 1
- The green lights around the cd door, the hidden audio switches, and the automatic cd door on the Wondermega
- The whole look (especially the blue lights around the controller ports in Game Mode) of the Panasonic Q

I like how the v2.0 Dogbone nes controllers have that slight bump.

I happen to like one of the NES accessories I got as a kid. I can't remember the exact name of it, but it snapped around an NES controller and allowed the Dpad to function as an 8-way pad. I can't imagine using an NES controller without it, as I lose any sort of precision in games like Contra.

The Turbografx-16 controller kicks ass for having the turbo switches which is the best way to handle turbo in my opinion. Also cool about that controller is the fact that you can reset the game right from the controller instead of having to hit a button on the system. This is helpful when I get mad that I got off to a bad start and I want to start over again real quick which happens a lot:)
