Twin Famicom Controller Cord

I just got my Twin Famicom today and I love it! But there is one problem. The controller length is WAY too short. Shorter than the Turbografx controller cord. Is there any way, at all, to extend these?

Since the controllers are hardwired to the system I think the only option you have is to buy a third party gamepad that connects to the expansion port on the Famicom.

Just like with the original Famicom, the controllers are connected to the PCB near the front, but then are routed out to the back. So, if you're desperate, it is possible to re-route the controllers to the front of the unit, drill some holes, and have the cords come out there.

On the Twin Famicom, you'll have to make the holes look super-clean, as it's just the controller cords coming out. On the old Fami, at least there were some cord clamps to cover up unsightly holes and keep the cords from sliding out...

Or else, you can just look for third-party controllers, like the good Hudson Joycard series, or some cute Hori mini-controllers.

Man, I would love to be able to lean back, and relax with my NES controller playing the Famicom version of Castlevania III. But, I just don't think I have the skills my friend. I won't opt out of your suggestion yet. I emailed famicomshop.com to see if he could get me any useful controller. Until then...
