This is in regards to the cart. that has NBA Jam and Judge Dredd on it.

So I bring this question up once every 6 months or so.. I know there are a couple of people that physically own this out there and I'm sure there is some that are owned by people out in the wild and probably some that are collecting dust somewhere.

None the less I haven't seen one on eBay in a very long time (at least a year or two or maybe I just missed it).

Regardless, for those who actually have the rom of this, I remember playing this when the store championships were going on and scored a cool 3mill. However I remember calling stores around that had winners with 10+ mill. My question is how was that even possible? I only remember there being 1 of those 1 million point balls in the Judge Dredd level.

I need to put this to rest and move on with my life to bigger and better games (kidding), so anyone out there know how it was possible to rack a 10 million score up?

Haven't been on the forums in awhile, but I'm back and missed ya alls! :)

I just started playing this in an emulator to see how high a score I can get and so far it's a bit over 2 million. I found the million points thing in Judge Dredd. Sometimes you can get bonuses of 100,000 when you kill enemies a certain way(I still haven't figured out how to do this all the time, it seems random), and when you defeat the final boss you get 500,000. I think if you make it through without dying you get a bigger bonus, I'm not really sure but there's a life bonus at the end for some reason. Maybe people really got a high score in NBA Jam, I really can't see anyone getting close to 10 million points. Maybe you have to kill all the enemies?

I'm a bit curious as to what the official name of the cart is though, the label says "championships" but the title screen says "championship". What do people usually go by for names of games, the label or title screen?

How many copies are currently confirmed to exist anyway?

About 5. According to the old thread, Nicola found two, DreamTR 1, 4ever2600 had 1 (did he sell it?), and somebody else on here has one (the guy with the Jason Vorhees avatar).

And I think the name of the cart is Blockbuster World Video game Championship II no? Usually people go by the title screens in terms of game names though.

I believe this is correct regarding the name, although I'm not sure. I know there is a picture posted in another thread on DP, but I'm to lazy right now to look for it. However I still would like to know how some store champs got 10mill plus.

To be honest with you, I don't think it's possible to get 10 million points in Blockbuster World Video Game Championship II. I've been playing, and I can't even break 500,000.

I wasn't sure about the name as some places list it either way. Gamesniped listed it as "championships" in their rare game article, same with racketboy.

As for the 10 million points, I'm not really sure if that's possible. Try finding out what the winner's score was, if it was less than that you know it didn't happen. I found an article that lists the names of the winners, but you have to sign up to read the whole thing so I haven't read it all yet(anyone want to sign up?). See if you can find the winner online somewhere and ask him what his score was, and how he got that much.

One of the ones Nicola I ended up with, and the other was from portnoyd. I am pretty sure only 3 or 4 are out there.

I thought Nicola had two when you already had one no?

According to that Gamesniped article I posted, Nicola found 3 copies. He sold one to DreamTR(as mentioned a few posts above). What about portnoyd and 4ever2600, does that make it 5?

Edit: I'm looking at the older threads and it seems the copy portnoyd had was sold to Nicola. But it also seems that Barbarianoutkast85 with the Splatterhouse avatar(not Jason Vorhees) has a copy, and he says Joe has one too(does Joe have a copy?). Who did 4ever2600 sell his copy to?

Yeah, that's the guy. Barbarianoutkast85 has mentioned that he does own one. DreamTR owned one, 4ever2600 owned one but was going to sell it, and Nicola found two I think. That's 5 right there. And then whoever Joe is has one would make 6.

I won my store with around 3 million, it's been so long I can't remember. I believe I posted a picture of the framed picture of what I received for winning the store. But I do remember calling near by stores and had my sister who was another state away at the time call, saying that store champs hit over 10mill.

There is a mill bonus that's hidden on top of a vehicle I guess you would call it that if you run over it you get 1 million. Other then finshing the game and getting a good score on NBA JAM (I had 50pts), no idea how its possible to get a 10mill score.

I just want to know how much money DreamTR makes to afford all of these games. :p

As I've said on numerous threads, I don't make much money at all. I had the right things to trade/buy, and that's it. I just don't buy everything up like everyone thinks. I buy/sell to Have money for games.

Dream TR has worked hard for his collection. He is like others such as myself that are resourceful more than anything else. It is not about money, but long hard dedication and understanding of the video game collectable scene.

More like he has connections and a decent enough collection to be able to trade with the people who have these rare games and prototypes.

I'm just curious a bit more about the competition. How long were people allowed to practice with the cart before competing, and how many tries were they allowed to have for a high score? Was the game just played with a system hooked up to a tv, or was it in a kiosk unit?
