I compiled this list myself and this is the first time it has gone public. Note the disclaimer at the bottom. Feel free to contribute to it, as there are still a few games missing from the list but mostly sports titles. However, the list is about 95-98% complete. This does not cover XBOX 360. Please give me your feedback, and tell me how I can improve it, as I plan on adding release dates next.

Nice list. Some of those games look interesting. Too bad they were never localized.

A couple of corrections, though. Jade Empire was developed by BioWare, not Microsoft. Microsoft Game Studios published it. It also didn't have a different title in Japan. The Katakana and Kanji both say the exact same thing. The Katakana says "Jade Empire" and the Kanji says, literally, "Empire of Jade."

And Sudeki was developed by Climax.

I wish I could find a cheap copy of Muzzle Flash just to see how bad it is first hand.

Thanks for the input, Tony. I corrected a few of those errors and will continue to do so if there are still any other mistakes in the list. But I appreciate your interest. I also was aware, having some japanese knowledge, of the fact that the subtitle to Jade Empire in japan is just the title translated to japanese, as I romanized many of the titles (and also wrote some of the katakana titles myself for ones like Runebrid), but just wanted to note that anyway since not all games have the titles translated like that for their international releases, usually it's just transliterated into katakana or something like that.

I actually read comments by people who said they liked it, though I never played it myself.

Also, I do own some of the games listed, but haven't modded my XBOX yet to play them.

I'm also wondering if I should organize them by release date or just alphabetically like I have them now. Any suggestions?

Nice list. What alot of people in the US don't know is that they can actually play a demo of Japanese exclusive game Metal Wolf Chaos on one of the OXM demo disc. It's hidden on one of them.

Also, The Wild Rings was a Japanese exclusive wrestling/mma Xbox title.

Great list! well done.

I'll have it handy for future reference as well as let my friends know of it…

one small correction:

Psyvariar 2 -Extend Edition- — the genre is shooting ;)

also, is it possible to put a notation of any of the games on the list are backwards compatible on the Japanese Xbox 360?

i like it alphabetically but i think it would be a good idea to add the realease date somewhere in there so like:

| TITLE | JAPANESE | RELEASE | DEVELOPER | GENER |

I think it would look good like that.

I didn't know that, interesting. As for the wrestling game, I will add it. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment! I would be glad to see others read it and find it useful, so I appreciate you spreading the word on it. I havent played Psyvariar yet so I assume you mean shooting as in shmup and not like 3rd person action game or something else, right? However, I do not know where to find information regarding backwards compatibility, but I will consider that.

Also, I don't think Double Steal 2 was actually released in the US. I know the first was, as Wreckless, but if its sequel wasn't released in the US then there wouldn't be a Wreckless 2, so I might have to move it. Can you confirm this?

I'll try that out and see how it looks. Thanks.

Regarding the XBOX 360 backwards compatability, I believe I may have found that information and will note it where available. I have also re-uploaded the list with various minor updates.

You can add Dinosaur Hunting: Ushinawareta Daichi to the Japan-Only XBOX Releases.

Added! I updated the list again, and this time it includes backward compatibility information, and a few new additions like Dinosaur Hunting and The Baseball 2002.

Nice work.

Thank you!

Also, I think the list is basically complete as I went through the japanese wiki and gamefaqs to check to make sure which games had an international release and which didn't. However, corrections where needed are always welcome. Also, work is underway to make the genre fields a bit more specific.

Yes sir, Psyvariar is indeed a shoot 'em up aka shmup.

and thank you for adding the backwards compatibility notations!

and speaking of Psyvariar, with it being backwards compatible, I'll look to pick it up…

I have already directed a friend to this reference to seek some Japan exclusive games for his modded Xbox.

Thanks again!

These lists are excellent, thanks for putting this stuff together.

As a note, Double STEAL Second Clash has a full English mode, including voices. I believe it detects the language setting of your Xbox and chooses the appropriate language.

Any of these worth picking up?

Always looking to play some great imports!!

Metal Wolf Chaos is supposed to be amazing, mostly becuase of it's premise. Double S.T.E.A.L. The Second Clash is good if you liked Wreckless / Runabout since it a sequel to Wreckless.

Rent-a-Hero No. 1 of course is a great game, albiet with some control issues, but the english unreleased version has hit the internet now if you want to try that instead. It's too bad that Illbleed hasn't similarly appeared, I wonder how far into development that port was. True Fantasy Live Online looked great too, sucks it never came out.

Illbleed is actually one of my favorites. Also, wasn't Blue Stinger also going to be ported to the XBOX? Not exactly one of my favorite Dreamcast games. Just wondering, because I think I read about that before. Also, does anyone have any screenshots of the unreleased Runebrid? One of the guys who worked on Shining Force had a hand in it, and when I saw screenshots of it several years ago, it looked like an XBOX version of FF Tactics. Now, aside from some artwork, I can't find those screenshots, and am not sure if I have them saved somewhere. I also found it strange that they announced Runebrid II when the first never even came out!
