I'm hoping someone here can give me an idea of what might be causing my Assault cab to randomly reset. A handful of times it has also frozen.

Is this something that might be caused by a dying power supply, or is it likely that the PCB is faulty?

I've owned the cabinet since 2003 and it just started acting up this past winter. I can play for about 30 minutes and then the game will just reset spontaneously. The marquee light never blinks or wavers so that makes me think it is not a power supply issue. :(
For a while it seemed that when I let the cab warm-up for 30 minutes or so, I was then able to play a full game without reset. Recently it began reset by the 3rd or fourth level.

The cab hasn't been relocated in 2 years, and has had countless hours of play with no problems. However, I can say the one thing that changed before the problem started was that I slid it further out from the wall, and since then it hasn't rested completely level and can slightly rock with aggressive joystick maneuvers.

Any Assault owners out there, or anyone else who can shed light on this?

I was looking forward to doing a twin stick overhaul this summer, but now ... :sob:

If you have a multimeter, and a little technical knowledge, check your power supply voltage at the board. Chances are, your +5V DC is low. Ideally, checking your voltage at the chips is best, but usually at the wiring harness is ok, too. Start with that.

I don't have a multimeter, but I think I have a friend that does...

Anyway, Thanks for the response! At least now I know where to start.
