I really loved these type of games, and I can't believe that this genre has been so unused.

It's cool that they're making that new Dragons Lair 3-D, but i'm not sure it will be the same. *crosses fingers*

Anybody else think that interactive animation should make a big time comeback? Cause I sure as hell do!

I do!

How about a POLL, BHvrd? You can add Road Avenger/Road Prosecutor, Cliff Hanger, Braindead 13, Cobra Command, Super Don Quixote, and Strahl/Triad Stone!

Do it do it do it!

Don't forget Wirehead for Sega CD and Time Traveller (arcade and DVD release). They were live action, but still was "BOOP" (moves left) BOOP (jumps) BOOP (ducks)...

Yes, they need to make a very big comeback. I love these type of games, maybe a little too much...

You've played the emulated Dragon's Lair and Space Ace via Daphne right? The video files are huge (2 cd's worth), but if you can get it going, it's worth it as it's the closest you'll come to the response and 'gameplay' (for what it's worth) of the actual arcade game.

I'm currently in the process of trying to get the Cobra Command video files as well.. but running into a roadblock. :P

the new dragon's lair ROCKS, though!!! i've been playing an xbox beta on & off (until we had to send the debug unit back, booooo  ), and it's incredible!

...although i'd LOVE to see sega's astron belt make it on the comeback trail one of these days, lol...=^P

No. As pointed out in a psxnation.com review, these are basically "rat-in-the-maze" type games: Press the right button at the right time or get punished (lose 50 cents).

I think today's games should allow more freedom to explore... like Dragon's Lair 3D will be.

That's one of the problems with modern games. "freedom to explore" does not always equal fun gameplay. Too much freedom makes a game boring (tombraider 4).

I think the new Zelda for the Gamecube looks like it approaches that "cartoon that you can control" idea that we all wished Dragon's Lair was more like... but time will tell. :)

i have a GREAT concept for a comeback. howabout, a person starts out with no weapons, and its like dragons lair, but you press combos according to how hard the opponents are. and you choose what weapons you get. yeah...
