Up for grabs is a modded/customized NES system package. I made this one awhile back, and I'm working on a whole series of these with different 8 bit NES characters. Currently working on Simon Belmont and Mega Man among others.

Here are the special features of the system:
- A "window" / case mod of 8-Bit Super Mario from SMB 1 that lights up red whenever the console is turned on.
- Blue power LED.
- Lockout disabled.
- I also installed a brand new 72 pin connector some time back. Plays games like new.

Also included:
- 2 modded NES standard controllers with the Nintendo logo, the A button, and the B button backlit red whenever the system is powered on.
- AV cable
- AC adapter

After calculating up my costs and labor, I'm asking $200 shipped OBO for this package. In between planning and the actual work I easily put in at least 10-15 hours just for the Mario case work. So I feel this is a fair rate.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Several people have asked, and YES I am doing custom orders .

I might trade, but it would either need to be for something pretty uncommon, or a large lot of common items. I'm really much more interested in just selling at the moment.

Since I'm pretty new around here you can check out my GTZ page for feedback. I'm Platinumfungi over there with 368 transactions and 100% positive feedback: http://gametz.com/user/platinumfungi.html

Thanks for looking!

If you make one with Mega Man backlit with a blue LED, you know who to PM ;)

Very nice looking mod, good luck with the sale!

Looks great. I remember seeing a custom case that someoen had built with a window to view the game that was inserted. The case was black with a plexiglass window.

Your case and controller mod is far better than what I saw. I don't know what a fair price is exactly but I'd pay a reasonable price for having you customize my case and controllers like that.

Just wanted to chime in to say I can vouch for this guy as I know him from pcenginefx and he's done some PCE, NES, and SNES mods for me. Top-notch work and a great guy to boot. 8-)

Any chance you'd be willing to explain how you made something so awesome?
I'm mostly just curious what you used to cut the NES like that. I can only think of a CNC mill being able to do it so nicely.
I also want to try duplicating that light up controller.

Ha ha, sure. Thanks for the compliment. The only trick is having a very very steady hand, and lots of planning.

I do everything by hand, no cnc here (although I really wish I had one of those machines). Just filing tools and a high speed rotary, that's it.

It takes a lot of time, but I think the biggest problem is that everything is sooo small. It's really quite frustrating, especially in the more complicated designs. One slip, and the case will be ruined.
