Top 10 SNES RPGs

Here we go again, came across this and thought to share it with you all. I have a few games I would swap out personally, however I think ti is a good list overall and who doesn't need a heated debate in a retro game site talking about games?

Not bad! I was a little concerned about the first few, but then I caught his rule of "one game per series" and it made more sense.

I enjoyed this list. Most of his favorites are my favorites, including Secret Of Mana, Earthbound, Illusion Of Gaia, and Super Mario RPG.

I think it's about time I finally play Chrono Trigger. Everyone and their mother loves this game!

How could Zelda: Link To The Past not make this list? INSANE!

Yeah, I admit, I saw this topic and was prepared to groan as Chrono Trigger got #1 again, but the list was pretty good (especially since he left Mario RPG out of the top 3... totally overrated IMO).
Kudos for FF4 being #2, though, I totally agree. It brought a lot to the RPG genre back in '91.

Good list, though I was surprised to see FF4 instead of 6. I've never played much of either so I don't really have an opinion but my understanding has always been that 6 is better.

I really was shocked @ FFIV over VI...I've only played VI most of the way through, but plan to play IV somewhere down the road!

Eh. Not impressed. These top 10s always look the same. What's the point of writing the same article as every other review site/show?

I'd like to see Dragon View, Spike McFang, or Arcana get some recognition for once. They may not be the best games on the system (actually Dragon View's freaking awesome), but if you're going to educate your audience on neglected RPGs you could dig a little deeper than Evermore. It really seems like he threw the game in there just to be different but it honestly pales in comparison to Lufia II. Ranking Breath of Fire above Breath of Fire II was also strange as the second game improved on the first in every way possible. It's more of the same and then some. And if you're looking to give props to any game for being a solid by the books RPG than I'd pick Paladin's Quest for it's unusual art style over BoF1.

I actually got the top 2 right before watching it all, lol.

Not a bad list, wasn't expecting Evermore in it, or Earthbound being that high.
But I would've replaced Mana with Lufia II, and Ogre Battle with Dragon View. And of course, Bof2 instead of 1, and FF6 instead of 4.

And I agree with Daria. Spike McFang, Arcana, and Dragon View are AWESOME! Dragon View totally made up for the original Drakkhen!

I don't know how to even look at this list it's so bad. He adds a game like Terranigma which is PAL/JPN import then puts Breath of Fire in there. If you want to seem more knowledgeable then why not just remove BoF if you're not going to put the second one in there and then add a game like Star Ocean which, while being a bit overrated, is still a very good game. Why are both FF6 and BoF2 not in the video and why is Earthbound other than it featuring a cartoonish real world? It seems this list is comprised of the author trying to sound like he knows alot, making his fans happy by putting in extremely overrated games, and then trying to be different by putting games like BoF and FF4 instead of putting the obvious better games like BoF2 and FF6(or even FF5.)

I already knew Chrono Trigger would be labeled as the best, yet this is something I don't agree with, but it's not like it shouldn't have been on the list. I'd also say Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Ogre Battle, and Secret of Evermore actually belonged there, though everything else would be removed if it was my list. I would have ended up adding Tactics Ogre, Lufia 2, Final Fantasy 6, Breath of Fire 2, and Dragon Quest 3 Remake.

Here'd be my list. It's a rough order. You could probably switch the bottom half around and it wouldn't make much of a difference where as the top five are pretty much set in stone.

I liked the list. I really want to play Earthbound.

This also made me want to replay all the ones I've beaten in the past, such as Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. I loved those games.

He was sticking to official english translations. I think if he were to include Japanese imports it would have been a totally different list.
