Google maps had the wrong name for a street/exit, so I was a bit later to the first sale I'd planned on hitting when they opened. Bummer, because they'd already sold a "Nintendo w/ controllers and all games" for $10 (the sign was still up. I did buy all this PS1 stuff for $10, plus the Gamecube games for $1 each, so it was still a nice sale. The other PS1 games are all sports and junk. A random sale had the 2 aftermarket SNES controllers for .50 each, which I only really bought because they had a giant garbage bag full of packing peanuts for free, but I always feel bad raiding free stuff unless I buy something.
And last was a sale that recurs every year a couple times. He is an old flea market vendor that just doesn't go anymore, and seems to be a real nice older guy. He's always had some good games, but priced at eBay levels several years ago and never updated. His wife was running the sale and after looking through all the games and seeing the same exact stuff (I think he leaves his garage permanently set up, since nothing ever changes at all), I mentioned that there were some really good games, but too expensive for me. She asked which ones, and I handed her ActRaiser ($3), Valis IV ($6.50), and Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut ($28). She opened the door inside and yelled at her husband. He came out and I don't remember what he said exactly, but I said something about maybe buying more if he'd give a good deal. He said $20 for those three, which I took and paid. I then looked some more, and he said he'd just do half price on any/all. Still passed on PS1 MGS, marked 30 or so, but did pick up Riddick (8.50), NES Godzilla 2 (22.50), and SOTN (28). All those came to 29 after rounding. Not amazing deals, but some nice stuff for the collection.

was at my brothers house couple days ago and noticed he had his old NES with 13 games in a box and no longer hooked up to a tv. this is the same NES he got for Christmas at around 1987. anyway, he knows i'm into collecting and told me i could basically keep the NES. He has no more use for it. so anyway, i took it home and my wife and i had the best time playing super mario and excitebike. it really brings back memories from my childhood.
anyway, the games included are pretty much the same ones we had when i was 7 or 8 years old which include classics such as Blades of Steel, Mario/Duck hunt, mega man 2, T and C surf design, hoops, renegade, excitebike, among several others.

You should also clarify what you mean by orphan... if it had been game and box, I do have an "orphan" manual lying around my house.
Got to work (Target) early today, so I decided to check the electronics clearance end cap. After all, today is markdown day.... Glad I did.

I've got a pretty good list.
-Clock Tower (PS1, complete) $30 from a family owned shop in Radcliff, Kentucky.
-Castlevania Chronicles (PS1, complete) $25 from a family owned shop in E-Town, Kentucky.
-Gungrave (PS2, complete) $7 from Gamestop.
-Gungrave Overdose (PS2, complete) $8 from a pawn shop in Radcliff, Kentucky.
-Ico (PS2, complete) $8 from the same pawn shop.
-Dead Space (PS3, new) $14.99 at Best Buy after using some Reward Zone coupons.
-House of The Dead: Overkill (Wii, new) $12.99 at Target.
Those two PS1 games and Ico are probably my best finds of that bunch. Luckily for me, I already have Ico. It's for sale if anybody wants it before I flip it on eBay. :)

Yesterday and today:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds173a.jpg
Bunch of old PC games I may end up returning; prices between 4 and 10 each, which is pretty steep IMO. Anyone know if any of them are worth something?
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds173b.jpg
Wiimote was a 'damaged' Target return that goodwill had, but it works fine - $15
Alice was also from goodwill for 5
below were all 25% off the listed price since it is Tues.
4x SNES a/v cables 2.95ea (one was 2.45)
SNES ac - 1.95
GBASP ac - 1.95
N64 cont - 1.95
DC cont - 2.95
Dragon Ball GT Final Bout (Atari, NEW) - 6.80 (is the value on this nil because it is the re-release?)
Then at Savers their barcode scanners weren't working so they had to punch all the prices in manually. It was Senior Day (40% off), and the woman in front of me had a ton of small items, so the cashier had to hit: 199/enter/40%offbutton: about 30 times in a row. When my turn came she looked at me and jokingly (?? I think) asked if I was 55 or older. Never been asked that before, I'm only 31 and don't think I look particularly old for my age. Anyway, I said something about not for a long while yet, and the woman that just got finished joked 'not to worry, the only good thing about it is shopping here'. Anyway, I think after doing so many in a row the cashier just did it on my 3 items out of habit, and if she realized it, didn't care enough to fix it. So I got 40% off:
CIB Earthworm Jim - 1.99
2x Mario Teaches Typing 2 - 2.99

Alice in wonderland is one of my fave stories so back when that game came out I immediatly bought it. I have it stored somewhere and haven't played it in years.
Today I went to my local Hollywood Video after work with my wife. When I first went in all I saw was Drakengard 2 but after a little searching I found a ton of The Guy Game, so bought Drakengard and left, not thinking too much about the other game that was there. I got home and Im thinking to myself WTF did I just pass up so I went back and got 5 copies of The Guy Game. One of my best wild scores in a long time.

So you probably have the box with the original cover! She's holding a bloody butcher knife and has blood on her dress, instead of the magical doohickey she's holding now. There was some controversy when it came out, so the art was changed and not a whole lot of the original ones made it out. I was lucky about a year ago and found the game CIB at that same GW. Mine has the redone cover on the box, but the jewel case still has the original artwork.

The Guy Game was pulled from store shelves very briefly due to a lawsuit for the 17 year old chic(who lied about her age and provided a fake ID). After the lawsuit was over places like Gamestop, Gamecrazy and Blockbuster started selling it again. Places like Best Buy and Target never carried it again.
Officially, ebay does NOT allow you to sell this game on their site(I know because I've had my listings pulled several times) but you can still find it listed before they pull the auctions. Some slip under their radar but much like Rapeplay this game is permanantly banned from ebay. Good thing CTCW exist.

It was sold for like 6 months before she sued, it came out later that she lied to be in the game showing them a fake ID. The game was put back on shelves (and in many cases never left the shelves). The only place that the game was truly banned for a while was eBay, where it wasn't allowed to be sold, and then only in the adult section.

Considering I hate all things American Idol, you know those games(both factory sealed) had to be cheap in order for me to pick them up. Don't list the guy game for xbox on ebay! My listing got pulled and got a strike to my account which means search standing goes down. its not worth it.
Finds over a little while:
TRU in Amarillo, Texas:
Orcs and Elves - $5
Mega Man Star Force 2 Ninja - $9.98
Bangai-O Spirits - $9.98
And, the best find of the day:
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 missing manual - $10
We got a flat tire in New Mexico and stopped in some little town I don't even know the name of to get it fixed. While they were getting it fixed I went and looked in the video store next to the tire store. I think it was called Video Shack. This place was really weird, it was a video store / tanning salon / smoke shop in one, and they barely had any DVDs, just stacks and stacks of VHS completely unorganized. I asked the guy if the games for sale and he said yeah, just bring it up and I'll price it. I looked around the game section and didn't see much, just random crap like the VHS section, but spotted MvC2 in the corner. Also saw a Kirby 64 box with no game in it (the only N64 game in the store) and brought that up. He said someone was renting Kirby, and I could have MvC2 for $10. Yay!
this cardcaptor sakura dreamcast limited edition game. It came with the game in a big box with a wall scroll, a plate, a spoon and fork, and a clock. All the stuff was sealed except the game itself, which was mint.
I tried to play it on my DC with utopia boot disc, does this not work for japanese games or something? I've only used it for burned games before. the cardcaptor sakura logo popped up on the screen with the floating moose but after that nothing happened.
it was $20 at bookmans
Goodwill:
Green N64 controller - $1.99
PnT:
BlazBlue CE 360 - $59.99 (had a bunch of credit here, gutted but in mint condition and I would just open it right away so I don't care)
Pawn Shop:
GTAIV 360
Dirt 360
Zelda Twilight Princess
All complete and $10 each.
Hollywood Video:
Guitar Hero World Tour WII complete
Naruto Rise of a Ninja disc only
Bioshock 360 complete
$4.99 each

Yes, Wikipedia is fun. Most definately a big waste of bandwith when it comes to crap like that.
I saw a Coleco telstar model at Value Village a couple days ago but it was missing control devices so I passed on it. it was 25 bucks. I chose the Bally Astrocade that was sitting above it instead for the same price. The opaque hatch is a little busted though on it and the model sticker fell over... And its missing the controllers. It came with 2009 Astro Battle though.

Yesterday:
NES:
Rygar
W&W 3
Genesis:
Flicky
Vectorman
World of Illusion
Gunstar Heroes
Ecco: The Tides of Time
I know Gunstar Heroes isn't a particularly rare game, but it's the first time I ever saw it, and I crapped myself when I did.

guitar hero world tour was pretty bad in my opinion, they never show the band when you play, they show that weird eye thing, and like the flying ship, its so weird, and the songs suck.

Weekend finds & buys:
http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u160/Xexyz1337/IM000532.jpg
I got lucky waiting this long on BlazBlue CE. I know I still had a chance with online ordering, but I managed to snag the last copy for the Xbox 360 from one of the three local Best Buy stores near me.
The rest of the stuff came from a single vendor at a flea market this past Sunday. Some new temporary booths were set up and this one guy happened to have a small assortment of NES - DC stuff. Most of it was common stuff I already had. He was asking $5 a piece per game, but I started to act disinterested and place the stuff back when he offered $4 each. Why not?
I'm also hoping someone can answer a question. What's the deal with Sol-Feace? Was it sold in a large, cardboard box like other early Sega CD releases, or was it just sealed in that cardboard jewel case? I know I'm missing the manual, but is that it?

It was a pack-in with the original sega CD. AFAIK, it only exists in that little flip open packaging. I believe that mine came with the manual, but there's no real place to keep it in the CD holder, so it's just kind of loose.
If you want a fancy case and manual just get Sol-Deace for the Genesis. It's the same game.

I have never played GHWT outside of a few Tool songs at Sears, but I am pretty sure they show the band when you play. They mo capped Hayley Williams from Paramore so that you can play as her.
In order to have Tool songs on the game, GH had to agree to change the stage so that you play in a cool Tool inspired arena.

The 360 version is easy to find. It's the PS3 version that's sold out everywhere, I had to track that down.

Is that what's up with it? I've always wondered...

I rather dislike Sol-Deace in spite of it being the same. The turrets on your ship don't control quite as well.

I bought the gutted 360 version because I don't have a PS3 though.

Well, here are some of my latest finds.
First, I went to the gamestop buy 2 get 1 free which was last weekend. I had a gift card so I didn't pay much for these.

Then I finally picked up this game for 2.99.

Plug the machine in and check to see if it's working. Those things have the tendency to die if they've ever overheated. Never use it on a carpeted floor, either. The air can't get into the vent holes when it's on carpet. And when you get a couple controllers, get a copy of Incredible Wizard. Great two-player game, a port of the Wizard of Wor arcade game without the original name (Bally Midway had already licensed the game out to CBS for game consoles).
All I found today were Silent Hill 2 for the Xbox and Xenosaga for the PS2, both $4.99 each.

Is that GameCube screen compatible with regular composite inputs? Me and some friends have been joking about sticking my PS2 in the back of my car to play after we hang out somewhere, but the only spare screen I have is my $2 CRT TV that has bad color. I don't trust my car battery with a CRT, so I'm kinda looking into something like that.
