Long story made short :

The owner of THIS LOT (http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-ATARI-QUADRUN-WATERWORLD-ASTERIX-HERO-GRAVITAR_W0QQitemZ110403563192QQcmdZViewItemQQptZL H_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item19b490aeb8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A13%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C29 4%3A50) is desperate for money and asked me 1,000 usd for the whole package.

What do you think ?

Some people on AA know me and they were bidding on the lot but the seller was shilling and in the end could not get any money :S

It sounds like a good deal to me. I see Swordquest: Waterworld in there and a few other expensive 2600 titles.

If he's legit then HELL YES.

Waterworld is almost the least of the lot. ;)

If there's an "N" sticker on the top of the Asterix box it's NTSC. Mine had that.

Edit: And you WOULD list these right before I go to Comic-Con. Argh!

Under the shrinkwrap, on the lid. I'm not sure if ALL the NTSC boxes have them, I'm only going by the one that I used to have (and got directly from Steve Woita).

@Mayhem: I would have if I wasn't going to Comic-Con! :P

You paid one grand for all that?

Is your last name Arellano Felix? Or Slim? :P

So I presume he was indeed shilling on the second auction (that ended at $1700+) as well? What a moron.

Wow I really don't get this one. Isn't this lot worth more like 2 grand? Why would the owner (a) sell these in a lot instead of individually (b) run a shill on valuable stuff and (c) "desperately" sell for 1000?

Am I just being dense or is this lot, especially sold of individually, worth more than twice what it was sold for? I know the market for 2600 games is bad right now, but geez.

Because the guy is a total assclown.

There was quite a long thread (http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=144694) on AA about the (attempted) sale of these games.

The guy also had a Pepsi Invaders he was trying to sell, but he refused to open up the cartridge to prove its legitimacy. That auction was pulled (along with the original auction of the other rares) due to shill bidding by the seller.

He also has a history of bidding on high-priced Atari items and not paying for them. He obviously needs money.

No, you're right, but truthfully, most of the games are not in great shape either. But the (negative) reputation of the seller was the major factor in the final price.

Indeed.

The guy first offered me lot in 1,700 .... then 1,500 .... then 1,300 .... and finally 1,000 ... He knew that my wedding is this weekend and that i don't have any money, also, he screw himself shilling in his auctions ... and not many gamers in Mexico can afford to pay 1,000 for Atari games :-D

I spent the money i was saving for expenses on the Honeymoon, hehehe, but being in Cancun is rewarding enough that i don't care i spend only the necessary :D

Funny, the guy on AtariAge who set the proxy bid that held in the first auction was still prepared to pay $2000.01 for it...heh! Crime certainly didn't pay in this instance.

That's correct, the golden.axe did bid 2,000.01 .... sure he will think twice before shilling again .... he really needed the money :S
