Hello!

Recently picked up a PAL SNES, and it works fine, except for some faint annoying static in the audio. the static seems to happen when higher pitch sounds are played, and if there's no sound playing, there's no static.

Eg, you can hear it in the audio on the 'Capcom' screen at the start of Street Fighter, and when the electric guitar instrument plays in the intro music.

I've checked the AV connector and it seems fine, and visually inspected the board, it looks fine.

Any ideas? Was wondering if the problem was somewhere in the opamp or analogue circuitry. Anyone have a diagram that shows where the capacitors are in the analogue audio circuit?

Have you tried using a different AV cable to see if you get the same issue?

No, I only have that one AV cable, but that AV cable tests fine with two other SNES units. So it's unlikely to be the cable.

Are you using an aftermarket AC adapter? Those are known to produce weird effects like green lines and stuff.
