What games have your favorite video game ending music? Mine would have to be: Super Mario World and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Both have great ending themes. I also love Marvel Vs. Capcom 2's soft jazz ending.

I don't know if I have a favorite, but I have a bunch that are in my top 5.
Chrono Cross: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NuU3YF41QE&feature=PlayList&p=1E2C16F46B2CF98F&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=48
Love the guitar in this. I could do without the singing since I don't even understand it :D , but I really like the end too.
Super Mario 64: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-80d4bqVrxE
Probably my favorite N64 game, and I always love watching the credits because of the music (and the pictures).
Mario Kart 64: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2oCprkt8Hc
Just a great theme.
Man! There are so many that I can't even think of right now. I'll have to post the rest some other time.

You know, you posting the MK64 and SM64 themes reminded me of that triumphant Mario Party music whenever you finished a game.

Nintendo 64 sure had some good music.

Final Fantasy 6. That's all I have to say.
*edit*
Here's the start of the ending before it plays the ending song along with all the characters. The song will also be shorter if you don't get all the characters(pulling out that part of the song.)
I also don't know if this video is the complete thing though. It's altogether 21 - 22 minutes for the full thing and this person may or may not have missed characters.

I like the ending theme to Revenge of Shinobi. Very epic and kinda 80s cheese.

I'd vote for the original Starfox. I played it for my mom, who loves classical music, and she was quite impressed with the quality of music coming out of the SNES.

The credits music from Zelda: Link's Awakening. Easily the best music on the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color (Tied closely with the Final Battle music from Pokémon Gold)

I've always loved the credits music for Super Mario 64, Link to the Past, and Kirby Super Star.

I always thought Sonic 3's ending music was awesome, irrespective of whether or not Michael Jackson (RIP) was involved in its composition.
And how am I only the second person in this thread to mention Portal?

I know. The theme has to be the best one out of all of those games, with 3D Blast credits in 2nd place. I mean, it reminded me of Baba O Riley by The Who on all levels, especially the keyboard synth in the background. The most impressive song ever.

What I always loved about the Sonic 3 credits were the shouts of "Hey!", it's a pretty good ending tune. Loads better than the Sonic 1 and 2 rehashes.

Mario Kart 64: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2oCprkt8Hc
Just a great theme.Word. Kind of unfortunate that the ending theme of Mario Kart DS is so thoroughly unremarkable.
Earthbound's entire ending suite.
Thread over?Oh! Indeed. There's just so much to like about it. Especially the Star Wars-style start, and the subtle intermixing of the themes from the various stages of the game.
Mother 3's ending is pretty snappy too - I love the way it riffs on the title screen music - but it isn't quite as memorable.
Final Fantasy VIII - "Eyes on Me"
That song almost brings tears to my eyes. Mix of nostalgia and storyline just really gets to me.I didn't much care for Eyes on Me, but I do like that last sequence that ends up in the end of Final Fantasy VII, VIII. and IX - whatever that is.
I also prefer the Super Mario World ending to Super Mario 64's, myself.
And I'll throw in Hotel Dusk.

If you can suggest a source for more organ music like that, I'd like to know about it.

For me, Mario Kart 64 and the Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time both had the best game ending music. Whomever composed those scores were geniuses

I thought the ending for Kirby Super Star on SNES after you beat Milky Way Wishes and the credits roll was pretty good. The Sonic games for Genesis had pretty cool endings as well as the music remixed just about all the music tracks in the game besides the special stage ones. Oh also Super Mario Land for Game Boy. I'm sure there are plenty of other catchy ones too that I'm just not thinking of right now.

Gunstar Heroes. Specifically the song playing while the final scenes are taking place, the credits music is good too.
The ending you get in Maniac Mansion if Dave dies, or rather you kill him because he's absolutely useless.
Edit: Wow completely misread the topic title this morning, I completely missed the word music.

What's with all of the "I cried" responses to the ending theme song? It's certainly one of the first endings that comes to mind for me as interesting and well done, but certainly not emotional to the point of tears. Then again maybe the large response from 12 year olds about how Mario64 is a classic shows it's age.
