Hi guys,

I'm starting to streamline my proto collecting and I'd like to keep my focus geared toward NES protos. I have three protos of unreleased 5200 games and was wondering what they were valued at:

Looney Tunes Hotel
Meebzork
Millipede

I got these in a trade from Ianoid a few months ago, but haven't tested them since they've been in my possession (I've never even seen a 5200 console in person). Anyone know what the going rate is for unreleased 5200 protos? Just a ballpark number would be nice, I'm not really up to date on Atari proto values. Thanks guys!

Are they original protos or the bulk copies Best Electronics has been selling for years? If it's the latter I would say $20 or so each.

That was the first thing I asked before trading with Ianoid, I asked specifically if they were Best Electronics "protos" and he assured me they were not. Any fool proof way of checking?

I can pop them open if need be, but I don't have any experience opening 5200 carts. Any suggestions?

I promptly covered the exposed EPROM windows after snapping the photos. Any way that I can tell if they're legit or not? Be pretty pissed off if I got ripped off by a respected member...

I highly doubt ianoid ripped you off.

Agreed, I'm doubtful as well. Now, can anyone confirm that these are NOT Best Electronics "protos"? I'd love it if some more people with Atari proto knowledge would chime in, where is Tempest when you need him? :)

you might have more luck posting them in the "prototype" forum as more of the protoclub hang out there and more of a chance one of them will see it.

Just saying this to reassure you and to put your mind at ease: Ianoid's reputation is unimpeachable. You're good.
