Found a few things at garage sales today that really caught my eye. The first is a set of sega genesis speakers, ive never seen one up to this point so i snatched them up right away. They're my new computer speakers now :)

The Second is what seems like some kind of mail in map or something for dragon warrior 2 or 1. No idea what either of these things is worth so if anyone could give me some on what I picked up today, where they originally came from etc, that would really help.

IIRC at one point nintendo was giving copies of dragon warrior with the map and all that stuff away for free to nintendo power magazine subscribers

it's one of the more common RPG's for NES, do you have the game too? i think cart only gets around $5, maybe extra with the map stuff, i could be wrong though

2, 3 and 4 are worth more

No info on the speakers?

If I remember correctly, the speakers were part of a mail-in gift from Sega when you bought a new Genesis. Get a Genesis (leader of the 16-bit revolution), Altered Beast and stereo speakers! I recall an advert for that in Gamepro... 1990ish.

Nice score. The speakers are awesome just because. But that Dragon Warrior packet looks minty. The letter's pretty probably the hardest bit to find. While I'm not comfortable giving a definitive price, I'd probably shell out $15 for the set without regret.

That Dragon Warrior set is worth WAY more than what people are estimating. It's sold as high as $100 and averages around $70. Although the game might be common, the mail away stuff is extremely rare.

Here's a link describing the set:

Your set appears to missing some items though. There should be a small yellow slip as well as another small letter regarding Dragon Warrior II.

Your set, appearing to be incomplete, is worth at least $50.

Heh. At least I was right about the letter being hard to find. :P

Genesis speakers were sold at Zellers back in the day, I had a set. They were cheap computer speakers with the "licensed" logo on 'em. Still neat :D

I noticed, found your posts about it on some other forum. Not for sale as of now but ile be sure to let you know if i'm getting rid of them should I need the extra cash.

Shame i don't have the complete set for the dragon warrior stuff but the guy has no idea where his nes stuff went to, which is a shame since he kept his games in such good condition.

PS: whats a good asking price for a sega genesis model one + sega CD combo? The same guy still has that and I may buy it off him.

I had a set of those Sega speakers traded in (I'd never part with mine although I'm pretty sure one of the speakers doesn't even work - it's a nostalgia thing, I EARNED them) and sold them for $14.99. They sat around for awhile though, I'd say they're "worth" no more than that, even though they're priceless.

Less than $50, more than $20. Which Sega CD model is it?

The very first that attaches to the model 1 genesis. It's the one you stack on the bottom of the system, instead of the side.

That one's worth a little bit more, maybe $60.

Those Sega speakers are nice when used with a power supply. I've been using them in my MAME cabinet for almost a decade and way before that they were used with my Genesis constantly.

Sent away to Sega for mine back in the early 90's. Don't remember the promotion. Still have them packed away in the white shipping carton complete with little instruction booklet, plastic baggies and the styrofoam inserts.. never had use for them since I ran audio through various A/V receivers.

Remember thinking that it was a bummer they didn't come with the AC adaptor.
