Interesting. Any other info about the game? I wonder if it includes all the stages, or if it's available on a cart. For better or worse, it illustrates big differences between the NES and 2600- as if everyone already didn't know.

It was a link from a friend on Facebook - I have no info on anything to do with the project but figured it was worth sharing on here... hoping someone on here would go "Oh yeah, that's this project..." etc ;)

If that is an actual port on the 2600 rather than something like a flash program made to look like it, then I'm amazed!

The programmer is David Galloway and he talked about it 2 years ago here:

If he could take that game and port it to the Supercharger, he could make it even better! :)

Love the soundtrack! Is that music possible on a real 2600? And if so, why didn't we hear stuff like that in games back in the day?

Actually, it would probably ruin the game. At the moment, it's a 32k ROM using 128k extra RAM (Super Chip). The SuperCharger only has 6k worth of RAM to load from tape.

Frankly, I'd like to see the author invest more time to learning how to program the game from scratch rather than using batari Basic... At the very least he'd be able to get rid of the horizontal black lines through the "pixels" that make up the level.

It's kinda got a Game & Watch feel to it. Nice.

I thought I should add that the demo was released a few days ago:
