I found his accent very offputting. Honestly, I couldn't enjoy it.

Not too bad, I did laugh when he said the barrels were stolen from Donkey Kong. But I have to agree with Spaz, his monotone voice wasn't too entertaining.

You know, I came across that review a year or so back when I was looking for a C64 longplay of Dragon's Lair on YouTube and I wound up sitting through the entire thing ... mainly because I was mesmerised/hypnotized by his accent.

that wasn't a very good review, I could barely even understand what he was saying most of the time. Did not even make it all the way through.

It's only good, if you're in the right frame of mind. "So bad it's good," is the phrase that comes to mind. I can understand where you're coming from though.

Bingo ... he's just so calm and his accent is just so weird and the review is so horrible ... it all comes together in one beautiful train wreck.
Last night on the way home from work traffic was terrible and I said "Why are kangaroos out to kill me?" No one in the car laughed but me.

My problem with the video is that it was pretty boring really, didn't find his accent weird or anything and had no trouble understanding him. He just didn't say anything that was actually funny.
"How do I jawmp?...there's no jawmp button. Oh shit I din't wunt dat!"
I found his review to be rather enjoyable, maybe it's because he was jumping into those games head first (more or less) and it was all his honest opinion. Then again I find any reviewers that don't have AVGNitis to be enjoyable.

The Sega CD version plays just like the arcade original but I've noticed that when you play it on an emulator (like the guy in the youtube vid was) you don't seem to be able to see the flashing indicators that tell you what to do.

Wait, on the actual system it has indicators? Why wouldn't they appear on the emulator, though? I mean, the indicators work in some other games like that, Time Gal for example... why not Dragon's Lair? Because yeah, without them it's impossible, I have tried it emulated. If this version actually has indicators, it has some worth after all... not too much worth, none of these games really have decent gameplay, but some. Maybe I should try playing it on the actual system, I have one.

I remember Time Gal not having the indicators actually overlaid on the video though, I remember them being shown on the border that surrounded the video on the Sega CD version.

Hmmm, I just don't see the humor and fascination with this one. Just appears to be another boring, semi-scripted, dorky review. OMG, he has an accent. Accents=funny! I dunno. Maybe it takes a lot to make me laugh.
