Beneath a Steel Sky has been freely available since Revolution Software released it as freeware in August of 2003.

You can download it for free from ScummVM's site, HERE (http://www.scummvm.org/downloads/#extras), without having to sign up for a GOG.com account, which is required to get it from the link you provided.

Fair enough, was not aware, still though, GOG is a cool site though and in my opinion well worth checking out and signing up for. No, not for everyone but for those not into emulation or DOSBOX wanting original Classic PC games ready to play and compatible it's a pretty decent option..................

Check out these sites, they're in German but contain a lot of links to free commercial games:

Many of these sorts of games are easily available in Linux package managers. Ubuntu has this one, Ur-Quan Masters (not a point-and-click, I know, but still classic), Paradroid, etc...

It's just nice to see classic gaming freely and legally available where anyone could find it.
