Famicom 1983-1994 history book

I was looking for info on the Famicom and came across this:

The description:


Contained inside this book are all 1252 games created for the Family Computer, otherwise known as Famicon, the Japanese version of the NES. In each section for a game contains a picture of the game cart, its box and a small description of the game in Japanese and in English. With a few notable games, such as Super Mario Bros. or Mother, there would also be an interview with that games creator. Once again, the interview is in Japanese but has also been translated into English. In the pictures below, be sure to check out the interview with Shigesato Itoi. Written in Japanese, 199 pages. Published by Ota Publication and originally sold on December 4th, 2003 for 2,500 Yen.

Long story short, this has been sold out for years and eBay doesn't have it.

What I'm asking is this:

Does anyone have this book and willing to scan it?

I definitely want to see this book but since no one has it, I'm kinda screwed. Plus, I think it would be a HUGE asset to the growing Digital Press library(which hasn't had a new book up since dinosaurs roamed the Earth).

Can anyone(if anyone here is lucky to have it) help out a fellow member?

Yeah, I agree. The real benefit of it is that it's dual-language. Japan produces a ton of encyclopedic books on old systems, but if you don't read Japanese all you can do is look at the pictures. The book itself is merely decent as such things go, but it still beats anything anyone has published in the U.S. The interviews are a good read, though!

The best Famciom encyclopedia book so far is clearly Fami-Complete. ^^
Expensive now, but well, i bought it on release, so...:)

Amazon Europe does ship to the USA, atleast on books. I have ordered from Amazon.de before and had no problems, except for maybe some translation problems, hehe. Shipping is a beast though.

Regarding that book, I think this is the one that I almost bought while traveling to NYC several years back. I was browsing through the book at an import shop, but the price seemed a little expensive to me, and as much as I loved Nintendo, I felt that the book was not as awesome as it could have been, especially to a poor jobless high schooler on his senior trip.

Hey everyone :)

This is my first post here. I came across this post about the Family Computer book. I just won this book on Ebay last night!! :D Mint condition for only $26!!! I saw the OP and a few others who replied in this post want to see the book..I sure can't blame you guys it's a VERY nice book with full color pictures of the boxarts and cartridges for all 1252 Famicom games.

Once I get the book and have had a chance to look through it, I will be more than happy to try to scan the entire book for everyone here if that would be ok :) Yes, it is a bit of work and it will take a bit of time but I don't mind! This book is very rare now and I think that everyone who wants a chance to see it should be able to, so I'll be more than happy to scan it. I can upload it to a file sharing site when it's all scanned and provide a link here to it if that would be ok.

Im in the same boat here. Also id hate to fold the pages back to scan.
I recommend you track the book down as its presentation is amazing. One of the best gaming history books around.

Just wanted to let you all know I did recieve the book yesterday! From what I've seen of it so far it is EXCELLENT. It's as promised, mint condition. However, it is quite a bit larger in person than I expected so scanning will be a project but I think I can do it :) If you love games in general and especially the Famicom/NES, this is definitely well worth tracking down and paying whatever you need to spend in order to get it. Normally I'm not big on spending an arm and a leg for a book, but this is one of the very few books out there that I can say if you're lucky enough to come across it due to it's rarity, grab it while you can. I just got VERY lucky in that it only cost me 26 bucks. When I DO see it on Ebay it usually sells for at least 80, seen a few copies sell for over 100. So I could have ended up paying that much but grateful I got the deal I did.

Anyway, I'll finish looking through it in the next few days and start scanning it. I made a promise that I would and I will at least attempt it.
