OK, but are you sure for the polarity ?

if you look here:

http://www.neostore.com/detail.asp?ProductID=785

it's (+)--- 0)-----(-)

Hmmmm...That's strange...I'll take a pic of mine and post it...
I'm sure on the polarity..
Positive on the outside negative on the inside.

I may have to ask about this at Neo geo.com

I think you need to check your serial number of your NEO GEO to decide which power supply you need. The older models use the 5v 3amp power supplies, while a newer model uses a different one. I think thats how it is anyway, I have a really low serial number, and I have the 5volt 3 amp version.

Finally I got it..I had to scan it...my camera flash kept bouncing off it.

I created a post at neo geo com..
I'll post the replies.

I just need a last confirmation, this is the right power supply for the AES ?

I'm surprised I didn't get a responce yet over at NG.com..
I think I should tonight though..

I understand where you coming from...I'd be really pissed off if I bought that power supply and it fried my system.

You don't want to take a chance with these expensive AES systems.

I may have to ask to the store owner himself..Shawn..

I also think it has to do with your serial number..
My Serial number is 013323

Daryll:

I think I have the same earlier AES, mine is 019471, model NO: NEO-AEC, Rating 8W, it says it uses PRO-POW AC Adaptor. My Japanese unit says PRO-POW3.

I once used Japanese AES AC adaptor and it works great, yet I've ordered one US AC adaptor from SNK, it'd not work. This model uses lower 100V than the later AES models 120V. However I'd ask Jeff Kurtz at Tech section as well as Shawn at Neo-Geo.com rather than posting public, people there tend to care more about bickering than real gaming and discussions.

My aforementioned US unit is my backup and I'm also looking for the AC adaptor for this unit as well so if you find the right one let me know which one works.

I wonder if details of which power supply could be found by looking at the circuit board?

We might be able to compare them..

What's the serial number of your system? The older systems required the 3V one. I own 3 Neo Geo's and their are two different power supply's for the Neo Geo.

I brought this topic over to Neo Geo.com..
I want to document this info so people who need it will have it..

Can you add to this topic too...
Anywhere is fine I'm going to compile all the info...
