Can you fake the foil name? I mean, this sounds fishy...

HAHAHA oh god. No, sorry, Playstation games don't HAVE their name printed in the inside ring like that. Numbers and shit? Sure. But not the name of the game.

/me innocently presses the "Report This Item" button.

Why? Because the game is not worth OVER 9000!

considering that disk is black and all

So definitely a fake?

ProgrammingAce

Definately a fake, they did not print copies of thrill kill. The game was never completed.

Also, it's a PS1 disc that doesn't have a black bottom. My copy of Thrill Kill is more legit than his but my asking price is only $1,000.

What is funny is the fact that for $10,000 the seller can't even have the decency to offer FREE Express Mail service...which is what, $15?

O_o

The guy messaged me again and said "WE are still waiting on a counter-offer..." I plan to counter with 24.99. That is all.

I just sent this to the seller:

I am a PS1 collector and after reading your auction I just wanted to point a few things out to you. First, ALL PS1 games and demos were "black" bottom disc. Not silver, not gold, not blue red or purple, just BLACK. Secondly, go look at the bottom of any other PS1 game you have. You will notice that NONE of them have the name imprinted on the disc. The only thing back there is a small disc id number. So at the risk of sounding redundant, you do NOT have a one of a kind Thrill Kill disc. You have a cd-r with a generic disc picture printed on it. I'm not saying that you made this fake disc but I just wanted to point out that your copy of Thrill Kill isn't any rarer than my copy or the other millions of copies out there. Hope that helps.

I'm still waiting for his response.

He just responded back with this:

we have feared this just were not sure how it was
possible to have that printed in the foil.
All we knew was the guy (a friend) we got it from
got it from a friend who worked in a packaging
plant in Australia. He gave it to the guy. We have
our own doubts... but when we pull this up on a
pc. it has all the files that make it authorized
and trademark info...

Authorized files and trademarks! Ooh!

Is there any chance that this could be some kind of prototype disc or something?

Kitsune Sniper

That doesn't look like a CD-R to me. It looks like a pressed bootleg (hence my HK Silver comment). I've stumbled upon a few of those at the flea market I go to over the years.

You can buy silver-bottom CDR's... just not at Best Buy ;)

He mentioned Australia... Can any Aussies here comment on whether games there had a similar lack of the name in the foil as here?

The only thing we have printed on the bottoms of the discs here is a 4 letter 4 number sequence,

eg:

IFPI 943A

News Flash! The seller has lowered the price to the small sum of 3000! What a bargain for a probable bootleg

You know its fake thanks to the wrong PS logo on the cover.

It 'could' (could being 0.0005%) be a legit proto but for ALL the PlayStation Protos that I have, I don't think I've got any that have a screened full color logo on them. I do have ones with screened info on them, just nothing remotely close to this.

Why does this guy speak like Tommy Lee Jones playing Two Face?

Absolutely 100% correct. Have come across many of these in my travels...more so 3DO titles than anything else...some better quality than others...

Listen to this man, he knows of what he speaks.

I think once the item doesn't sell he'll realize he overpriced it again. Then he'll relist it for $1,000 because thats an even better deal.

lol reported. that is definitely an HK silver. i once had a dreamcast silver of gauntlet legends that had "GANTEET LEGENDS" printed in the bottom ring.
