Earthworm Jim driving me crazy

I got Earthworm Jim for the first time on the genesis about a week ago and i just got around to playing it and im at the boss made out of trash cans at the end of the first level. And no matter how much i shot him he doesnt die i tried hiting him with my "whip" but he doesnt want to die so i used the invincibility code on the game genie and ive been fighthing him like 15 minutes and he wont die...HOW THE HELL DO I BEAT HIM! >:( >:( >:( >:(

Whip the stuff he drops down into the spring so that it hits him. Dodge the fish he spits up, and repeat.

hehe i remember i had the exact same problem back when i first tried the pc version, i wasn't really into jump&runs at that time, so i had to read a faq *shame on me*

Whip crates over to the spring and time it so about 5 of them hit him. Shooting him doesn't hurt him. If you jump on the spring yourself, holding in the jump button, Jim will jump very high, and you can grab onto platforms above which have health.

Come on, it isn't that hard if you do it right!

No, he means the mini-boss kind of guy that's actually made of trash cans... at least I'd assume so, since he describes the boss as being "made out of trash cans" ;)

Anyway, when he drops down to his rolling form, just jump over him and shoot his rear end until he turns around. Then, just jump over again and repeat. As long as you don't make any contact with him, the battle will be over a lot sooner than you'd think.

Trash Can man ... yeah get close enough to whip him, timing it so that the dropping junk doesn't hit you, then when he turns into the roving robot, jump over him, quickly reverse and keep shooting. Once you get the timing down it won't take long.
