I found an Emerson Arcadia 2001 at a flea market for $5 with the original bags and styrofoam, but no box. Is this a good find? I have a DP guide but there is no rarity or value info in it about this system.

I consider an Arcadia system a great find. I've only found one, despite finding games on numerous occasions. I think I still need the system complete in box.
Mind you, Arcadia-compatibles aren't as cool of a find.
Congrats!

Is that the same thing as the Arcadia 2001? A while back I saw one that had some Bandai titles with it (a Gundam title, I think, among them) that looks to be from about those days--maybe 1984 or a bit earlier.

That's the one!
There ARE prices and rarity ratings in the DP Guide, edition 7, but only for the US released stuff. There were just way too many import titles to accurately reflect prices and rarity.
It's all there. Edition 7, pages 20 thru 35.

A bit of both. The USA version (the Arcadia 2001 itself) has a number of poor games for it. On the other hand there are a couple of them that show off a bit more of the system's abilities than one would expect (Cat Trax is a fair example and Star Chess is a good game, too.) If we get into the European and Asian games (from Hannimex and Bandai in example), well...a few of them surprised me (Doraemon and I think Dr.Slump have some impressive intros). Many of the games in all areas are clones of recognised games. Generally, it seems like the hardware was under exploited, but there are a few gems.

I guess that's something I should have asked- Arcadia, being also a cartridge based skeet shooting system (one that I have on eBay right now and can't get a bid for even $8.50.)
Yeah, Arcadia 2001 is the score-a-lacious one.
Is there a complete list of Arcadia games including the Bandai releases? I have those you mentioned- 51 and 52, but where are 30-50?

Crappy system, great find. The collector in you will want it, but the gamer won't.

I think the updated list from Ward (post DPCG7) has them, but am not sure. I haven't found any proof that there are any Bandai games other than 1-16 & 50-53. If anyone knows different, I'd LOVE to hear about it.
