Okay, so I'm trying to load a program from a disk into my Color Computer model 1, but I can't get it to work without it giving me an IO error. When I turn it on, the light doesn't come on, but it does have a functional belt and starts when I type a command, it just doesn't load anything.
Any ideas about what might be wrong?

Open it up and clean the head with alcohol and a q-tip.
Next, take a good, unused disk and format it. If you can format it and save a BASIC game on it then try your disks again.
You could have a dirty drive... bad disks... or a misaligned drive.
If you can format/write/read a floppy but can't read any factory floppies then you may have bad disks or a misaligned drive.

How do I format a disk? Sorry for all of the questions, there's very little info about this stuff online.
