Thank you. I now have a new game on my "weird stuff to look for" list.

I remember seeing the print ads for this game back in 1997. Was always intrigued by it. Now you've sold me.

Get Overblood 2 as well, OK?

PAL only.

I have both.

Also: Poor Peepo.

My god, I loved Overblood.
I found it to be the most genuinely suspenseful game I have ever played.
I tried to show it to a friend once, and when we got to that very moment, he laughed. I was a little embarrassed to have taken it so seriously! I played it alone from then on, and I loved it. I still love it.

I dream of playing Overblood 2 one day, but it was never released here in Canada. I have a modded PS1, but even if I had the iso it would still be in PAL. Whats the easiest way for me to play it?

I wish there were more games like Overblood, but check out these if you havent already:
System shock I & II
Fade to Black
Echo night
Juggernaut
Lunacy
D

as far as i kno, even if u had a pal ps1 you wouldnt be able to play without a pal tv or maybe xrgb or something might be able to get a picture

i considered getting overblood 2 ntsc j but unless the voices are in english too, i dont really see how i could play it, as far as your list, i've always wanted to play the system shock games and i think i've seen fade to black for cheap at a local retro game store, that come out for the ps1 right?

what are the other ones about? i might pick up fade to black if its in anyway reminiscent of overblood

Echo Night 1 is for PS1, and Echo Night: Beyond is for PS2
They're 3D First person adventure games. Vaguely horror/psychological/mystery games. Beyond is Science Fiction too, so it's even more like Overblood. You have to be laid back and patient to enjoy them. They're slow and deliberate, but satisfying. I thought so anyways.

Juggernaut is PS1 also. It's an adventure game in the true point & click sense. Lots of FMV. The game is cut up into several mini stories. They range from laughable to very disturbing. Loads of dialogue, so stay away if you don't like reading. Creepy, slow, but fun.

Lunacy (Saturn) and D (PS1, Sat, 3dO, PC...)
Almost all FMV. Click, watch a movie. Click, watch a movie. You get the point. Psychological horror stuff. D has one or two genuinely frightful moments. Lunacy is just plain weird. D2 for Dreamcast is cool too... but even weirder.

Fade to Black is PS1, yeah. If you like Out of This World, and Flashback, you will like Fade to Black. Its really 3d Flashback.
I mention these not because they resemble overblood in any obvious sense, but perhaps underneath they have the same sort of... tone.
Give em a try. See if you like.

I really liked Overblood. I remember it getting a bit unfairly trashed by some people when it was first out because it was a little weird, but I thought it was a fun 3D adventure kind of thing. I wish the second one had been released in the US.

I remember renting Overblood soon after it came out. I played it and thought it was fantastic! Still consider it to be one of the hidden gems of the playstation.

I always wanted to play Overblood 2 but the whole PAL thing makes it a bit difficult :(

Cool, this game just happened to be in a lot PS1 and N64 games I just picked up. Didn't really know what to think of it, because it was only the disc inside a case from some rental store. I may just have to pop it in and see what it is like.

if i rememebr correctly, the game starts off really really slow, but if u can stick with it till around the 2nd floor i think, this game is gold, gets emotional later on......

SPOILER* FUCKIN PIPO MANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCKKKKKK!!!

Wow nice to see so many fans.

Can Overblood be really called survival horror? If not it's a good contender.

if you do get the PAL version of Overblood 2, try to get the later release published by Eon, not the original version by Event; both have some pretty heinous bugs but the Event version is far worse. i have no idea if said bugs were present in the Japanese version or if they were only introduced in the PAL but they're certainly a pain in the arse.

i have the Event version. D:

I thought of another game that I think was similar to overblood. It's called Run Like Hell, or just RLH on the cover. It's for PS2, and nobody liked it, so it's in every pawnshop, and it's cheap. Pretty campy, a little too sentimental, but it's science fiction-survivalist adventure stuff. I enjoyed it, but nobody else did. But hey, that's how I felt about overblood too. Try it.
