Yay, another problem! :beaten:

The left trigger on my DS lite isn't responding. Not only that, but the damn thing has grown a mind of its own and has taken up shutting itself off and on(!) whenever it feels like. So, I opened it up to play with it. Long story short, the left trigger still doesn't work, I'm not sure if the randomly turning off and on problem has been fixed yet (to be seen), and through no fault of my own(I'm lying) the little plastic bit attached to the power switch is not broken. ARRRGGGG!!!

So far, I've taken out the plastic power switch and am resorting to jamming one of my wife's earrings into the power switch box to turn the system on and off. Obviously that's not the best solution.

Nintendo sure used some cheap parts when building their popular handheld.

I'm aware that it's possible to order a new power switch and change it with the broken one after some soldering, but I don't want to do that. I've been considering making a small hole in the plastic switch, and then putting the metal end of the earring through it to substitute for the broken plastic bit. Does anyone else have any better ideas? I'm not in the mood for soldering OR buying a new DS.

I bought it in Canada 3 years ago, so the warranty is definitely finished.

Thanks!!!
