Anyone ever hear of a Gamecube having just the controller port going out? I just grabbed one used, and the 3rd and 4th port work fine, but the two left ports do not register anything at all. They look fine, but I can't really tell without opening it up and I don't have the tools. Unless there's something I don't know about (this is my first attempt at anything with a GC), I'm assuming it's just dead and not worth fixing

I would look to see if you can see any physical problems, like a disconnected wire or something that needs to be bent back into place. If it is, you can fix those issues relatively easy.

If it is not something physical and it requires fixing, for example, soldering a new fuse, then yes, it isn't worth fixing since you can get Gamecubes inexpensively.

I had a similar issue with my Dreamcast. The solution was to tighten the controller port contacts...yes, just like with NES cartridge connectors. A small screwdriver should do the trick.

Hmm, how would I go about doing this on a GC? I don't see anything to tighten, and I never did that with an NES..
