I'm just getting back around to installing MAME and playing some old classics and World Series Baseball, one of the old Cinematronics games that has the lever controls. Now, I know it's doable to properly emulate these in something like MAME because of analog controls, the exact kind needed to simulate the weird analog controls these games have.

HOWEVER, since the resting position is at the top instead of center, it's hard to make MAME properly see the "flick" motion of these games correctly. Has anyone set up a sure-fire way to control these games in MAME?

Sadly, I can't answer your question, but I feel your pain. Especially as Cinematronics' Alley Master is one of my favorite bowling games ever. I want to play it again so much!

For awhile, I had it set so that I could flick the stick down from center, and then would manually flick it all the way to the top, Tiger Woods style, to simulate a pitch or swing, but since it's not as instant, you don't get the same power in your pitch or swing that you ought to get. It's definitely something that I wish I could figure out better!
