Mine is the NES, mostly because I grew up with it and a lot of the games for it are really cheap...save for some of the rarer and more in demand ones. My second favorite system to collect for is the SNES, basically for the same reasons I like collecting for the NES.

SNES because it re-ignited my interest in videogames.

Genesis/Mega Drive and Famicom are my favorite so far. I recently started to get into the Master System and love the number of Euro/Brazil only games to collect for it.

NES is a great system to collect for IMO. Tons of cheap, easily available games and I love impressing people with my 90 game collection.

My second favorite is SNES for most of the same reasons, but the games are slightly harder to find and are more expensive, which makes it more challenging to collect for it.

For me, it's the N64. I just have a ton of memories connected with it, and I already have a pretty decent collection of games (around 90). I hope to eventually get every different color controller for the system...I don't even know how many there are.

The Xbox and PS1 are my two favorites to collect for because it goes beyond just games. I also collect demos, magazines, marketing materials, books and occassional clothing items for both of them. I also collect alot for the 360 lately since it's my current gen system of choice, but my Xbox and PS1 collections are quite extensive.

My favorite systems to collect for are 32x and Sega CD.

Are you going to try and go for a complete 32x collection? I think Spider-Man is the only game for it that goes for a lot of money.

NES hands down. Even though I had many systems before the NES, it remains my favorite since I remember it all through its history here in the states.
The second and third is the SNES and PS1 respectively.
Those systems take me back to certain points of my life that I love to remember. Collecting for them lets me hold on to part of that.

My first video game love was the Atari 2600. Recently, what with a bunch of stores beginning to stock retro games around me, I've begun to feel the thrill of collecting for Atari consoles again. I enjoy collecting for the VCS more than other consoles, just because it feels more 'personal'. It helped me develop a love of gaming that has continued all my life.

For me it's a straight tie between NES and Genesis. I never owned an NES growing up, so collecting all the fabulous games I played @ friends' houses is a real treat. On the other hand, I've had my Genesis model 1 since Junior High, so going through & nabbing all the shmups & other gems I missed out on growing up due to lack of funds is always great. I like to collect for my PSX as well, though I already own the large majority of domestically released titles I truly want for that system.

I'd have to say Genesis as it's the only system I could see me actually obsessing over enough to get a full set on. However I love collecting hardware :D

The PS2, it is the system I started gaming a lot on, and I enjoy a lot of the RPGs and fighters on it.

NES is my personal fav. I got one when I was 5 in the 80's and haven't stopped playing it since. So many fond memories! Snes is my second fav.

I like NeoGeo, but I am not crazy enough to pay the prices for Rom carts so I collect NeoCD (complete set), NeoGeo Pocket, and the AES carts I want I just get in MVS instead.

Generally I like smaller sets for less popular systems, like Vectrex, Virtual Boy, 64DD, etc.

But put a gun to my head and I will say NeoGeo.

Sega Saturn, hands down. There are just a ton of great exclusives that you can't get on any other platform. They don't get rereleased like the Dreamcast library and Genesis library.

1 - PC Engine
2 - PS1
3 - Saturn
4 - Genesis/Megadrive
5 - SNES/SFC

My favorite system to collect is actually Neo-Geo MVS but that doesn't qualif as a console.

I'd say Megadrive... but the shops that carry them usually have them cart only (and for my OCD streak in me, they must be CIB) or vastly overcharge. It's difficult finding any!

My favorite system to play is PC Engine, but my favorite to collect for would probably be japanese Mega Drive and Mega-CD games.

DC and N64.

I just love it.

I seem to be getting into ps2 alot on the sheer fact that there are so many ps2 games, and 360 since it is around and selling, games are fairly easy to find for it

Turbografx... It left a hell of an impression on me as a kid when it was first released.
