i know most models of the cd-i could output s-video but the much smaller and "consolized" cd-i 450 seems to lack an s-video port which makes sence since it was a budget model. does anyone know if the system can be modded to restore s-video?

this is a mod i figured out to get rgb, something like this may help you get your svideo.
id bet the option is there they just never max out the chip with all of its video options to save costs.

Are you talking about the Magnavox one?....

I have it, going to take a look in a few days...Although, I don't think this model has the CXA1145 though...

yhea, the magnavox one. its a shame if it can't as its the only one that doesn't look like a 500 lb LD player. let us know what you find out.

True, I like it 'cause is small....Hopefully it has a video encoder that can be worked on without having to built a RGB transcoder....
