You talking about the converter out of a gyromite cartridge? If so I have one.

I think thats the cheapest you can get em, you may be able to shave off a dollar here and there but I ended up buying mine from ebay.

I just did a search for the cheapest BIN:
http://cgi.ebay.com/TV-Video-Booster-PAL-to-NTSC-Converter-Adapter-New_W0QQitemZ170359130141QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_0?hash=item27aa32081d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A15|66%3A2|39%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

This is the one I use and it works sweet for my pal snes. Pretty self explanatory and comes with everything needed.

I'd like to know if it will work on a Amiga CD32 as well. Please post if it does or doesn't. Thanks.

A bit off topic but, Does the Amiga CD32 have the CXA1145 video encoder?...I remember seeing the motherboard somewhere...If it does, is really easy to convert into NTSC, the master clock probably has to be replaced to do so as well.....

i would generally try this with a system that is very common but with this little one, I couldnt see me bumping into another one without funneling some funds so an external converter would have to do. :)

But there is a great picture of it here

just in case anyone cares at all, they are looking into the problem. I just switched the boot from NTSC and still the converter makes it look worst and really just takes the color off the screen but its still shifted and everything. Ugh. Shouldnt have bought it.

So it worked for you straight away gokugohandave?

yeah i just plugged in my pal snes to the input, then hooked the out to the tv, plugged it in and turned on the snes, worked fine. No color blurring, bleeding, death by pixels or anything. Stupid question but are your cords in the right order? Like maybe your putting the in in the out and vice versa?

Wait did I just read that your using the converter with the amiga in ntsc mode? If the amiga is capable of outputting ntsc, and your using a pal to ntsc converter, it will probably make things worse. Try using ntsc mode without the converter.

oh yeah, i also figured it could be that way but nope. I have it correct. Its funny as I screw around with everything electronic, I opened it up and it looks terribly ghettoly soldered.

It could be that they didnt have enough kids to put it together that day :) Ive never opened mine but i wouldnt doubt that it looked like that. Well its beyond me then really, everythings hooked up, the converter at least powers on i assume, so it may be that you got a crap unit or the amiga has some video troubles.

yeah, the LED goes on and all. The Amiga plays Breed great in NTSC but with other games its just rolling or the screen shifts nuttiness. I wish I knew this before picking it up but viva Amiga!

Judging by your Amiga mouse post, it doesn't sound like you're booting into PAL mode.

Don't use this converter unless you're in PAL mode, it will likely only make things worse.
