Aside from the special Zelda games, I just have the red Mario DS Lite. Kind of cool how much the thing resembles a Game and Watch.

Hmmm... I've got the Shining Force lll Premium Disc, which is very cool but not quite a special edition.

I keep meaning to get my hands on a Tri-Force GBA SP and a Sonic Dreamcast, if only funds weren't an issue!

Also i have a pikachu edition nintendo 64 system.

i have that, too... the only reason i even got an xbox in the first place was to play halo and best buy was selling the special edition halo xbox's for $179.99 with the game.

though, they seem pretty common. this guy who works at game crazy told me he dumped his whole xbox 360 into his halo edition xbox so he could still play on it.

how rare are the pikachu n64's? i saw one at goodwill on a half off day... it would have been ten bucks but i passed.

The Pikachu N64 isn't particularly rare. I've seen it around numerous times. The rare ones are the transparent colors, such as the clear black.

I own the Sega Sports Edition of the Dreamcast that I got for 5 bucks at a garage sale. One of the best deals I ever got.

I have the bonus DVD and Metal Case for Halo 2 I got at a sale for a buck, but its probably not rare or sought after at all.

ya the fun color series. i had a teal colored one that i sold for 60-70 a year ago. i also used to have a mountain dew xbox, got it at a garage sale for $20, the guy worked for pepsi or something, i ended up getting 200 or 250 for it.

I have a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Nintendo DS system. They were given to VIPs who attended the movie's premiere at Disneyland.

I have the NES style Gameboy Advance SP ... and you could almost call the original 60GB PS3 a "special edition" system since we'll never see any more like it.

I think the N64 I have is a smoke black one too. How rare is it, maybe I should sell it and get a regular old boring N64 instead!

BetaWolf47
07-16-2009, 01:50 PM
Forgot to mention, I've also got the Sports Edition GameGear that a friend gave me.

The smoke N64 I'm not sure how much is worth. The reason I mentioned it is because my old college roommate had one, and I hadn't even seen it before. I thought it was just a mod. I also haven't seen the atomic green or purple ones in a long time. But the Pikachu edition... I've seen for sale about twice in the past 3 years. Maybe I'm just (un)lucky.

Korean Halo Edition Xbox purchased when it hadn't yet been released in the US and I thought I was going to be special for having one.

Collector's Edition Morrowind with the pewter Ordinator.

Hmm, oh, of course, special lunchbox edition of Fallout 3

I have the NES style GBA sp also. Even got the Darth Vader psp. Anyone got pics of the mountain dew xbox? Just remembered, the gold cart OoT Zelda for n64 and the legendary edition of Halo 3 if that means anything.

Is this true?

I just got a mint in the box Grape system for free about a month ago. Along with a sealed water melon controller. I figured being an N64 it wasn't worth anything, but I loved the color.

I don't have anything spectacular. Non regular editions that I have are my DC is the online pack, N64 is the Pokemon stadium pack and my SNES is the more fun pack 2, but I wouldn't call them anything special since the consoles themselves are just the regular versions. Some games that may or may not be in this category are:

-LoZ: Four swords w/link cable
-Castlevania Konamistyle packs for OoE and DXC, and the limited editions of SotN and LoI
-Xenosaga 2 in the cardboard packaging, but this is very common
-Assassin's Creed with the big statue
-Halo 2 steelbook
-Bioshock Bid Daddy le
-Fallout 3 lunchbox
-GOW and GOW2 limited editions
-Perfect Dark Zero limited
-Viva Pinata limited

Most of my stuff is for the newer gen (and PAL, minus the Konamistyle packs and LoI), just because most of the older/less printed stuff costs a shitton of money. Students who live on their own usually don't have a shitton of money.

I don't know what all will count and what won't after the LE discussion, but I will throw my hat into the ring. While a small special edition collection, it is something:

Systems:
Halo Edition XBox

Games:
Soldner X: LE (PC)
GTA4:SE (360)
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground: LE (360)
Skate 2: LE [still in plastic full sized skateboard deck] (360)
Halo 3: Legendary Edition (360)

If you count musical instrument stuff:
Rock Band 1 Special Edition (360) [basically the full band kit]
Rock Band 2 Special Edition (360) [basically the full band kit]

If you go by special features and extras in a game that was limited:
Tiger Woods 99 (PS1)
I got one of the 1st print runs that has the south park pilot on it.

That Victor Saturn you just got was basically a special edition Saturn over in Japan.

To all the people asking about the special/fun colored N64's, their prices have definitely gone down over the last few years. I see them at my local Goodwill for $10-30 every now and then but I remember when they were all getting $80-120 on ebay not long ago. But today I think the boxed ones only go for $30-60 on average(just the system itself).

I have a Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast. I guess my Nomad and X'Eye are kind of special, too.

Games:

Sega Arcade Smash Hits: Limited Collector's Edition (amiga)
Christmas NiGHTS Into Dreams sampler (saturn) - US version
Virtual On: Netlink Edition (saturn)
Sega Rally: Netlink Edition (saturn)
Rollcage LE (psx)
Border Down LE (dc)
Trigger Heart Exelica LE (dc)
Under Defeat LE (dc)
NiGHTS Into Dreams Nightopia Dream Pack (ps2)
Street Fighter IV Collectors Edition (ps3)
Shaun White Snowboarding Road Trip: Target Limited Edition (wii)
The Conduit "Special Edition" (wii) - not much different though

If you count game and controller bundle variants, I also have:

NiGHTS Into Dreams with controller in large box
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat with drums bundle
Donkey Konga (Japan version) with drums bundle

Not officially a special edition, but I also have the original printing of Revenge of Shinobi, with the copyright infringing bosses.

I have the Coca Cola Game Gear system. Pretty cool red Game Gear with the Coca-Cola logo on it and it comes with the game "Coca-Cola Kid". Still have the box and documetation with it too.

I'd like to get one of those to replace my non-working standard US Game Gear, but I know it would only be a matter of time before it stopped working too, since all Game Gears develop the same display issues, sooner or later :shameful:

Wow, some nice lists here. Mine's not as great, but here goes:

Systems:
Sega Game Gear - Blue sports version
Game Boy Color - Pokemon (blue/yellow) version
Game Boy Color - Pokemon (silver/gold) version
Nintendo 64 - Pokemon edition - boxed and mint
Nintendo 64 - translucent green version (have two of these)
Nintendo 64 - translucent red (melon?) version
Sega Saturn - Japanese "Skeleton Saturn" translucent black (smoke) version
Sega Dreamcast - Japanese Hello Kitty pink translucent version complete
Bandai Wonderswan Color - crystal blue version (special? not sure)
Nintendo Gamecube - Platinum special edition - sealed mint
Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP - TRU exclusive Pikachu yellow version
Sony PSP - Star Wars LE Darth Vader version
Playstation 3 - Metal Gear Solid bundle (not an LE, but a bundle?)
Nintendo Wii - super rare "all the games produced are crap so we don't use it" version (wait, that's the common version :) )

Games:
Outlaw Golf/Darkened Skye 2-pack (NGC)
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter - LE packaging art
Resident Evil Code:Veronica X (PS2) - 5th anniv. edition with Devil May Cry preview disc
Stranglehold (PS3) - packaged with "Hardboiled" blu-ray
Halo 2 (Xbox) - two disc LE
Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf (xbox) - with alternate cover
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (xbox) - black edition
Sneakers (xbox) - TRU Exclusive game
007: Quantum of Solace - (360) - with T-shirt
Gears of War (360) - LE set in tin
Gears of War 2 (360) - LE set in tin
Halo 3 (360) - Legendary edition (x3)
Perfect Dark Zero (360) - in tin
Prey (360) - in collectors tin
Rock Band Track Pack AC/DC - Walmart collectors edition with shirt
Soldier of Fortune: Payback (360) - Best Buy excl. packaged with First Blood DVD

I think that's about it. I have a lot of other special "2-packs" like the Xbox NCAA Football 2005/Top Spin pack-in disc but not sure if they count. Also, would Steel Battalion with controller, or Real World Golf with controller count as Special or Limited editions?

I have 4 "Signature Edition" Meteor Blaster DXs for the Turbografx CD/ PC Engine. Differences from the regular edition game are: Each copy of this game is numbered and signed by the developer Bt Garner. Each game sold was customized for the buyer. Your name or anything you wanted (within limits) would be added to the title screen. Also on the title screen the game is numbered to match the number on the manual. The "Signature Edition" contained updated graphics, a new version of the bonus game Loop and an extra ship to fly in game. I own copys #57, #58, #59 and #60.

Sweet! And I didn't even know Bandai made a Vectrex. Well, I've kinda given up on ever owning a Divers... maybe some day when I'm wealthy and/or living in Japan.
