View Full Version : Help Me Identify This NES Platformer [SOLVED: NG3]
Hey guys, I am hoping to get some help identifying this NES game I rented years ago. I can't remember too much about it, except that it seemed to star a ninja of some sort, it was a side-scrolling platformer, and one level, perhaps level 3, was in a jungle but instead of starting on the left of the stage and moving to the right like usual, you start on the right and move to the left. It was a brain-bender for my young mind to have to do that! Most of the platforming on this stage was up in the canopy above, and falling into the swamp or whatever it was below results in instant death. Help please?

Well it kind of sounds like the Jungle level on Ninja Gaiden 2, except in that level you scroll left to right.

It's Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom. Stage three is Jungle themed with a large swamp at the bottom. You start from the right side and scroll to the left.

Or...Ninja Gaiden III! Legend of Kage was fun and it went right to left, right from the left...er...start! If I'd only tried posting AFTER seeing the correct answer! D'oh!

Thanks goes out to all of you guys. I've been wondering about that one for a while. Guess not having played Ninja Gaiden III in so long has made me not think it could be from such a popular and favored series, even though I knew the game I was thinking about had a ninja in it!
It's funny, though - maybe it was because I played it as a kid, but that jungle section seemed so much longer back then! Maybe it was due to all the replaying I had to do through that area. LOL
