Save $$$ on Plaza reservations

Hey gang,

Just found a way to save yourself some $$$ if staying at the Plaza. If you book your reservations through their webiste (Click here! (http://www.plazahotelcasino.com/)), the cost of a Standard room is only $23 Sunday through Thursday and $59 on Friday and Saturday. However, two caveats: This rate is valid only when booked through their Internet site and you MUST pay the bill in full at booking time. In other words, you pay NOW via credit card instead of at check-out (as I prefer to do).

If you're staying for a stretch in Vegas during CGE, this is a great way to save some bucks. (Room is normally $40 Sunday through Thursday - savings of $17 a night). But, you gotta pay upfront. And, you can only cancel your reservation up to 48 hours until check-in. Try to cancel after that, you FORFEIT THE ENTIRE ROOM FEE. If it's worth that much in savings, click and book.

Here's a question for those who have reserved their rooms. Which tower are you in? Last year I was in the south tower and it seemed like everyone was in the north tower.

IMO, Cons are always more fun if you can get everyone on the same floor, or at least in the same general area.

Most people were in the South Tower last year to my knowledge. Certainly everyone I spoke to was... you won't know where you are until you check in I guess...

I just looked at the site, and it appears that they dont have anymore standard rooms on Friday (but they do for Sat and Sun). Since its still two months out I'm sure this could change, but you might want to make reservations early. Last year it didnt begin to fill up until mid July. I was able to book a standard room by using the package deal thingy on Expedia.com and it turned out to be around the same price.

You could always book a standard room for Saturday and Sunday and then keep checking to see if one opened up for Friday.

Don't stress over staying at the Plaza. You can walk 100 yards to Fitzgerald's or Las Vegas Club, both of which have very similar room rates.

Standard rooms have two double beds so no problem on space ;)

I'd offer crashing space for folks, except that I have a SEVERE snoring problem. How bad? I'm scheduled for surgery after I get back from CGE. It's THAT bad. Hence the reason I never share a room on trips like this. I'm afraid of being smothered with a pillow.
