what systems would you own/collect for?

I'd own/collect for these: (systems I actually own/collect for now are in red)

Atari 2600
Atari 5200
Atari 7800
Atari Lynx
Atari Jaguar
Atari Jaguar CD
Colecovision
Intellivision
Microvision
Neo Geo
Nintendo NES
Nintendo SNES
Nintendo 64
Nintendo Gamecube
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo Game Boy
Nintendo Game Boy Color
Nintendo Game Boy Advance
Nintendo Virtual Boy
Nintendo DS
PC
PS1
PS2
PS3
PSP
Sega Game Gear
Sega Master System
Sega Nomad
Sega Genesis
Sega CD
Sega CDX
Sega 32X
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
3DO
Turbo Grafx
Super Grafx
Vectrex
XBOX
XBOX 360

I'd also own US/PAL/JP fullsets for all of the above, when applicable, and I'd pay someone to make a console exclusively for me that would play them all!

on a side note, I'm currently only 2 systems short of actually owning half of the systems that I would own if money was no object, so I'm getting there!

Same here.

I'd say all of them, but seriously, would you really want that many Imagine, pac-man clones, and mini-game compilations?

If money were truly no object, this is what I'd shoot for:

a. Complete Neo Geo MVS / AES / CD collection.
b. Complete Import Laseractive Collection.
c. Finish off the NES stuff I need (it's all the $100+ carts >_>;)
d. Complete PS3 with all variants library (I could build a fort with all the music bundles)
e. Finally pay out the nose for the last known PSX stuff I need.

Atari 2600 -Yes. Certain titles only though, no fullset.
Atari 5200 -Nope.
Atari 7800 -Maybe. Never got into this system or the 5200.
Atari Lynx -Yes. Like the 2600 though, certain titles only.
Atari Jaguar -Yes. Same deal as the 2600.
Atari Jaguar CD -Yes. Again, certain titles, no fullset.

Colecovision -Yes. No fullset, but I've long wanted to collect games for this.
Intellivision -No. Never got into the Intellivision as a kid.
Microvision -No. Never heard of it to be honest.

Neo Geo -Yes. Wouldn't fullset but there's a damn lot of games I want.
Nintendo NES -Yes. Got most all the games I want, just want them CIB now.
Nintendo SNES -Yes. Same as NES, some gems I am missing though.
Nintendo 64 -Yes. Same deal as NES and SNES.
Nintendo Gamecube -Yes. Got most all the games I want for this system.
Nintendo Wii -Yes. Not only CDs but VC and WiiWare releases as well.
Nintendo Game Boy -Yes. Having all of my GB games CIB would be nice.
Nintendo Game Boy Color -Yes. Every GBC I own is CIB, but missing some titles.
Nintendo Game Boy Advance -Yes. Same as GBC, missing some gems, want them all CIB.
Nintendo Virtual Boy -Yes. This is one system I'd try to attain a fullset on.
Nintendo DS -Yes. I'm actively trying to get games for this system now.

PC -Yes. I don't think a fullset is even possible for PC. :p
PS1 -Yes. No fullset but I'd definitely round out my collection with missing gems and tons of imports.
PS2 -Yes. Same deal as the PS1.
PS3 -Yes. Same deal as the PS1 and PS2. :p
PSP -Yes. Again, same deal.

Sega Game Gear -Yes. I'd like to try for a CIB collection but that might be impossible.
Sega Master System -Yes. So many EU/AUS titles that need collecting (still looking for the Flash). :)
Sega Nomad -No. Since this had no unique media, I don't count it.
Sega Genesis -Yes. Quite a few Genesis and MD titles I want still.
Sega CD -Yes. My Sega CD collection is near complete, not fullset but all the ones I do want.
Sega CDX -No. Same deal as the Nomad.
Sega 32X -Yes. Given the limited number of releases for it, I'd consider going fullset.
Sega Saturn -Yes. Tons of imports I still want to pick up yet. :)
Sega Dreamcast -Yes. Same deal as the Saturn but some domestics I still want/need.

3DO- Yes. Got some rares for the system but still missing Dinopark Tycoon. Still some commons I'd like to snag.
Turbo Grafx -Yes. This is the only system I'd consider going CIB and Fullset with.
Super Grafx -Yes. I used to own one with all the games. If I had the money, I'd get it again.
Vectrex -Maybe. I'd probably only get Star Castle.
XBOX -Yes. Got most of the games I want, I'd stockpile systems.
XBOX 360 -Yes. Same deal, I'd stockpile systems.

A couple of systems not listed that I'd collect for would also be....

Neo Geo Pocket Color (I'd go for fullset)
Bandai Wonderswan (I'd go for a near fullset)
NEC PC-FX
Arcade & Pinball machines :)

If money and, perhaps more importantly, SPACE was no object then I'd probably collect arcade machines.

Exactly what I was thinking of. Spy Hunter, Mat Mania, Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat, Thunderblade, TMNT, Gauntlet.....the list goes on and on.

I'd max out my sega love - I'd go for Complete Genesis, then SMS, Japanese and US saturn, Dreamcast - eventually get to SCD and 32X

Then probably find a candy cab and get into both CPS and MVS collecting.

Add somewhere in there a maxed out Amiga 1200, NGPC and Odyssey 2... I think that'd be all my favorite systems. I'd have some NES stuff too but even with all the cash and space in the world I could be motivated to truly collect Nintendo stuff. I'd probably just stick to what I liked.

I'd probably collect what I'm collecting now, but I'll just get more of it. Currently I just get what I come across at a good price, I might just be willing to get more titles at higher prices so I wouldn't have to wait until I came across them at a cheap price.

I would love to get into the Neo Geo picture. That is something I don't see myself doing unless I get my hands on a lot of money, so no question about it. Neo Geo.

This. But also going for complete sets of all things Sega. Complete USA, EU, and JPN sets.

But since money is an object, I'll just focus on getting complete USA sets of Master System, Mega CD, 32X, Saturn, 3DO, Jaguar, Jaguar CD, and maybe Dreamcast.

Hmmm...

I would like to do these things (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=27762&postcount=5)...

And these things (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=626053&postcount=15)...

Then build my dream arcade (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1202902&postcount=18).

(All of these things still apply, even years later; I haven't changed my mind. I'm gonna see if I can start knocking a few of them off the list.)

Money stopped me from collecting for my beloved SNES. So definitely that.

Probably Playstation also, just because it has many great RPGs on it.

If you are a girl in real life, I might start flirting with you soon.

Me personally, I would do the same. I would max out my sega systems.

I would then go for arcade stuff. ST-V fullset, Naomi 1 and 2 fullset, tri force fullset, oh man, the list goes on and on.

First I'd get all the systems and add-ons or converters, then games that are supposed to be good and all the games that have to do with series I like, then I'd pick at the bad stuff here and there while changing my focus to mainly collecting every CD by every artist I like the slightest bit.

NeoTechni

I would start collecting arcade games

Virtual On
Silent Scope
Crazy Taxi
Galaxy Force
Beach Head 2002

There's some tank game that uses dual joysticks. I think it came to PS1

As for systems, I'd max out PSP, PS3 and 360

Everything, if money and space weren't a concern.

If I could get a CIB NES and SNES collection, I would be happy. I mean, more would be great but those have always been my personal collecting goals and I'm not even close, lol.

j_factor

I'd probably collect for:

Colecovision
Atari 8-bit / XEGS
Commodore 64/128
NES
Sega Master System
Amiga OCS/AGA/CDTV/CD32
Turbografx-16 / PC Engine / CD
Genesis / Sega CD / 32x / LaserActive
SNES
Neo Geo AES / MVS / CD
Jaguar
3DO
Saturn
Playstation
N64
Dreamcast
PS2
Gamecube
Xbox
Xbox 360
PS3
Wii
Lynx
Game Boy / GBC
Game Gear
NGPC
GBA
N-Gage
DS
PSP
PC, especially mid to late 90s stuff
some arcade games

Basically almost everything, except not a lot of the really old systems, and not too many classic computers, as they just don't interest me (except the ones I listed); and none of the really crap systems.

But realistically, it's probably a good thing that money is an object, because most of this stuff would just go to waste. I'd "concentrate" on these systems ("concentrate" in quotes because it's still a lot of systems):

Amiga family
Turbo Duo / PC Engine
Genesis and friends
SNES
Saturn
Playstation
Dreamcast
PS2
Gamecube
Xbox
PS3
Wii
GBA
maybe PC

Time can be made for video games. Ever banged a Victoria's Secret model while playing a video game? I rest my case :)

for me ps1 and genesis would be fun to collect for just because there are so many good and uncommon games for them, but also a lot of common ones as well.

If money were no object I would:

1, build my own arcade.
2, fill said arcade with lots and lots of arcade machines.
3, hire people to work on those machines.
3, hire Mike Tyson to punch anyone in the face who breaks a machine.
4, hire someone to count for me.

If money was no object, I'd probly go after a few of my favorite systems like the NES, SNES, GBA, VB, and such but mostly I'd focus on realy hard stuff like Japanese releases. The sheer number of games released for the famicom or the PS2 would take most their entire life but as money was no object I'm sure it could be pulled off in a decade or two. Definitly go after the MSX though.

Well, I'm pretty satisfied with what I have. The only thing I guess I would buy is a Super Mario Bros. Pinball machine. Other than that, I'd stick with what I have now (and what is coming in the mail, my Sega CD and 32x stuff), no reason in my opinion to collect for every system, with full sets, and whatnot. I'd just go about collecting as I do right now a game or two every once in the while when I can afford it.

I would collect for Neo Geo AES, arcade, and Dreamcast would get more attention than they currently get now (DC is pretty much done until I get rich, and I don't own any AES or arcade cabs). First thing I'd buy tho is a Dreamcast Divers 2000 system.

If money was no object.... collecting wouldn't be any fun cause then I'd just find everything on ebay I want and just order it. I love going to thrief stores, garage sales, flea's and stuff and lookin for games, its like finding treasure kinda. Findin games and good deals is part of the fun, besides the games themselves of course.

If money and, perhaps more importantly, SPACE was no object then I'd probably collect arcade machines.Me, too. I could probably make the space if money were no object, though. "Honey, I bought this new accessory for my arcade games: a second house!"

For consoles, I'd probably complete my 5200 collection... maybe even boxed.

NeoTechni

I too would collect arcade machines. I've always wanted an arcade-perfect Silent Scope.

Nintendo/Sony could have done it with the GBA-GCN link/Remote Play between PSP/PS3...

vivaeljason

I would also collect arcade machines, but I would go out of my way to get a complete SNES, NES, Genesis, and Master System collection; probably the 2600 too.

1. Offer a half million dollars for all of DreamTR's prototypes.

2. Get the remaining boxes and manuals for my NES games, manuals for my Genesis games.

3. Buy the house behind my house and hire Xhibit to put a house in my house. No, wait. I'd buy the house behind my house and renovate it. All my games would be moving into this house.

4. Proceed to finish every US collection.

5. Proceed to finish world NES, world Genesis/Mega Drive, world SFC/SNES.

6. A dedicated Juno First cab.

Ow wow,all of them,I would love to have a library of games for each system in the world, but what sucks is,it would take forever to do it,and you would never have anytime to play them all lol.

I'd collect for the Neo•Geo, all different versions, including the handheld. I'd love to collect more Atari 8-bit cartridge games, which are next to impossible to locate locally. I'd love to pick up some of the obscure TI-99/4A games. Some of the rarer Astrocade games would be nice too. And what the hell, I might as well go full out on the current generation of consoles. I don't have any interest in anything but the 360 at the moment, but with cash being no object I'd hit the stores and fill up a car with games and consoles.

If money was no object, I'd own every Sega Dreamcast game - Import and domestic.

Every Dreamcast variant (launch model, sports model, hello kitty, etc...), peripheral, you name it... If it's Dreamcast, I'd want it.

Then I'd start collecting every Pinball machine made by Bally/Williams/Midway from 1987-2000. And my crem-de-la-crem would be a minty Twilight Zone with every mod imaginable.

Sonicwolf
10-29-2009, 03:59 PM
I would buy a DeLorean and open an Arcade/Game museum...

Balloon Fight

First thing I would buy is a minty Adventurevision in the box. Next I'd get both NWCs and all of the Unreleased NES games. I'd get a CIB NES set as well as a CIB SNES set. I'd then get everything for neo geo AES as well as genesis. I'd then put some bounties on the hardest to find Game Boy games complete. Then get 10 more arcade cabs.

RoyVegas
10-29-2009, 06:26 PM
I'd finish getting the last of the boxes I need to finish off my Turbografx collection. Then I would buy the PC Engine collection and everything NEC related that I could find.

If money was no object I'd get my CD-i up and running and start collecting for it.

I'd also get into the Laseractive stuff, just for the heck of it.

If space wasn't an issue either I'd arcade stuff too. Primal Rage.
