Anybody have one for sale/trade? Mark 3 is preferred, but I'll accept a Mark 2 that has the proper BIOS to play Terranigma (I think it's anything but J). I will pay a good price.

Best of luck, for real...the PAR 3 can easily get to $50 loose, and as much as $80-$100 complete if/when it comes up. They're not the easiest accessory to find. PAR 2's, btw, will not play Terranigma (I've tried), though they will play virtually every other PAL game on an NTSC system.

PAR2 with BIOS 2.P or 2.T will work. PAR2 with BIOS 1.0 or 1.1 has a problem where the game does load but won't save. I have no idea about 2.J (or if such a version even exists)

I'm hoping for it loose... My interest in this is purely functional and not as a collector at all. I just want to be able to play Terranigma. It will also help boost the value of my copy... Complete English Terranigma bundled with the means to play it = $$$$.

I might be able to get my hands on a MK3. How much you want to pay for it, they're rare. Also I haven't tried it with Terranigma, but how does it get around the frequency check? Let me know or message me. Thanks

Lucas

Responded, but I'm still on the search for the time being.

Just beware, I have a MK3, and I have not been successful at getting it to play PAL games.

I have a question. Are PAR codes the same as Game Genie ones? I've heard of this device, but only in its incarnations for newer systems.

Nope they are different PAR codes are way better and you can enter up to 255 codes unlike game genie 5 codes at a time only...

I have an MK3 complete in box, also a complete PAR2 v2.P, a loose v2.T, and a datel univeral adapter. ALL play and save Terranigma (tested myself) so I assume they work with other PAL games, I just don't have any other PAL games.

EvanG - don't worry about getting it to play PAL games, first get the menu to come up. It must have a game in the top slot. You may have to prop it steady with something because if it wiggles it won't load. Also clean the tabs, I got one I could only get to load after basically polishing the tabs. Works perfect now. If none of that works its probably busted. I've seen at least of dozen PAR 2 and 3s and they all worked. Seem to be made fairly well.
