What turned yellow over the years that started out a different color?

For me, there's really only one item: my SNES mouse. I've gotten really lucky with my stuff. Other than that, a few of my SNES cartridges have faded back shells, but all I need to do is replace the backs of them. It looks like a different phenomenon than the common yellowing.

On a sidenote, I once saw an NES Advantage that was so yellow, the owner had tried to paint it over with thick wall paint.

My first NES and a couple SNES consoles (one broken and one barely working) are yellowed in my collection. I also have a couple of Super Famicom Carts that are yellowed.

Not a whole lot of yellowed stuff. Just my original SNES has yellowed on the top part of it's shell. I also have a few SNES cartridges with their back shells that have kind of faded/yellowed.

Anything with that type of plastic, I have yellow: (S)NES controllers, (S)NES decks, (S)NES carts.

Now is the time to bring up the Retr0brite wiki:

Undo that which has been done. But be careful: the process requires monitoring, attention, and good attention to detail.

i had a yellowed NES and SNES, and even a couple controllers. I replaced them out with gray ones from ebay. Nothing like a nice mint collection of oldschool stuff!

I must have lucked out with my NES, since that looks the same as the day I bought it (not so much luck with my SNES, though).

The really strangest thing that I've had go discolored on me? My original Wii controller 'condom'. I looked at it side by side with the one that came with the Motion Plus, and it's startling how much the original sleeve has turned color. I actually ended up tossing the thing.

My SNES is yellowed, and probably a few random carts.

My first game system, a Super Nintendo Entertainment System, is starting to yellow. As are my Commodore VIC-20's and one of my SNES mice.

I have a couple of NES's that are colored (out of 5) and some random carts I got at garage sales that have colored.

My Famicom and my original SNES are both mighty yellow.
Luckily, that's it. Thanks goodness for black consoles.

I've been pretty lucky, I have a couple SNES carts with a little discoloration on the back piece and same deal with a couple NES carts, nothing major.

The worst I had was a Radio Shack Model III, it was almost brown.

My old broken vic-20 computer did turn yellowish... and I did not notice it was so yellow before I did get another vic-20 computer complete and perfectly white.

The bottom of my SNES is yellowed (actually its kind of drab greenish...bleck) and I believe that is all!

Yellowing is caused by the fire retardant chemicals in the plastic reacting with oxygen and the sun. My attempt at the retrobrite solution didn't work very well. Wound up bleaching it too much, and it smells of bleach.
