Yeah- we've had this thread before I'm sure- but it's been awhile and it's time for a refresher course. I'm looking for suggestions on good multiplayer games- whether it be co op or competitive. Any and every suggestion is appreciated! Looking for mostly "local/socail/ even hotseat" style games (I.e. if it takes 1 console per FPS player- it might not be a good fit here- but it's worth a shot anyways :)

So far we have:

Atari:
Combat
Warlords (w/ 4 dial controllers)

Snes:
Bomberman(S)
Mario Kart
Street Racer

N64:
Mario Kart
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark

GameCube:
Bomberman Generations
Mario Strikers
Smash Brothers Melee
F-Zero GX
Super Monkey Ball(s)

DC:
Virtua Tennis
Outrigger
Chu Chu Rocket (mentioned several times for it's simple to grasp gameplay)
Vigilante 8: SO
Power Stone 1(2 player?) /2 (4 player)

Xbox:
Mashed Fully Loaded (pal only- though US got the 1st edition) 4 Player Micro Machines style racing game- VERY fun
Time Splitters 2
Time Splitters FP

Wii:
Smash Brothers Brawl
Mario Strikers Charged

PS3:
Little Big Planet

Xbox 360:
Worms 2
Bomberman Live
Shooting Love 200x
Death Tank (seems to have gone awol on XB Live?)

PC:
Soldat (works great on older systems-so it gets a pass)
Liero
Scorched Earth
Worms
Atomic Bomberman

PCB/Arcade:
Numan Athletics: Both of these are really neat 1-4 player competitive 'super sports' games.
Mach Breaker (NA2)
Smash TV
Mr Driller G

Multiple/?:
Puzzle Bobble 2!!!
Point Blank 3!!!

Anything else to add fellas?

Any and all Mario Karts are good for that. Castle Crashers is also a pretty excellent multiplayer game on 360.

Powerstone 2 is definitely the top of the multiplayer heap, though.

If you got a PS3 I'll play you sometime using ad-hoc party. One reason why multiplayer games are better on the PSP than some of their other counterparts.

Genesis: Herzog Zwei
Sega CD: Soul Star

The co-op two player in Soul Star has one player as the co-pilot in control of weapon selection and allocation of energy between shields and engines (speed), while the other player flies and targets. It is a unique and very satisfying experience when playing with a capable co-pilot.

Some of the KOEI strategy games (Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Nobunaga's Ambition, Genghis Khan, etc.) are pretty fun if you can find enough people that are into that kind of stuff.

As for some good multiplayers, The Simpsons or any of those early 90's Konami arcade games are sure to clean you and your friends' pockets!

Gotta get the fighting games in there. I'll just mention a couple of the basics, so I'll add Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3, and Street Fighter 2.
